Carol Schram: Vancouver Canucks Game Review: Streak Snapped, Stanton's Ankle Too? The Vancouver Canucks lost defenseman Ryan Stanton to injury and had their seven-game winning streak snapped as they endured a shootout loss to the Minnesota Wild in the teams' first meeting of the season.

We suck at shootouts. It's almost sad how we can't score. Even though the shoot out is a skills competition, it is not how the game of hockey should be determined.

I don't think Vancouver needs to spend money on Ruutu either. They need a big body guy who can go to the front of the net, and depth on D more than anything else.

Ohh, and FIST

It's hard to trust the process when Zack Hamill is waived.

Ruutu is similar to Booth for the Canes right now. Makes 4 million, is under-performing, and has been injury-plagued. Booth's been playing decent lately. He has 4 goals(6 points) in his last 10 games. Last night was his 11th game since the conditioning sting and hiring his own skating coach.

Torts is doing some interesting things to get certain guys going, we all know he went off on Edler(who was leading the team in average ice-time) and also Hansen(now on the top line). But he also left Kesler off of the alternate captain rotation, it's just Daniel and Bieksa now. Kesler seems to be playing much better this year. And Booth was also not in the lineup to face the Panthers last month and has been playing better since.

Still needs to get more out of Kassian though IMO.
