Theyre gonna put him next to crosby and he's gonna score 40 goals
- rangerdanger94

Don't even say that. If Dupuis can score a bunch on Cindy's line, then Pyatt would probably do so, too now that you said it.

I would rather just save the cap space, because the Rangers are approaching the level where they may be able to add someone without salary going back the other way, which makes deals easier to make (i.e., second tier scorer on a struggling club for a pick or B level prospect).

should have edited it with "only on the cheap" lol

we have not at all been on the marching to the stanley cup bandwagon this year, not one moment
- jimbro83

There were a few that got a bit too happy maybe after a few decent wins which was followed by a loss and back to blowing up the team again. Midnightmarauder has been the most consistent cynic. I think I fall into that same category with my team.

People were begging for lundqvist to be traded and pissed that our own player made the Olympic team. We're an emotional radical bunch
- rangerdanger94

We all are as hockey fans I think? I try to be consistently cynical at all times which isn't too much of a stretch for me with my team.

It goes by predicting the schedule based on who our opponents are. Not totally unreasonable..

Here is the way the Rangers board works. There are two factions -- the blow it up faction, and the more conservative faction. When times are bad, the blow it up faction can be very noisy. But, when times are good, they are less noisy, and the conservative faction becomes more prominent. I don't think it is necessarily the same people saying different things. I think it is more of a function of who is talking the loudest.
- Pete V

Yeah sounds about right . Same thing on our thread. I'm part of the blow it up crowd. We are the cool cats.

I think this board is too heavily influenced by players' play during particular snapshots in time. If a plays bad for a 20 game stretch, he is worthless and we should trade him for a bag of pucks. If a player plays well for 20 games, then he is god, untouchable, and shouldn't be considered in any trade, short of Jesus deciding he wants to make a run at playing NHL hockey.

On the cynic thing, it is easy to yammer away how bad a team sucks when they are not playing well, and how everyone is worthless. I also wouldn't want that same type of person running a hockey club, because they would be prone to knee jerk decisions. I think your cynism is different because it is based on long period of time, not just a 20-25 bad games.

I just look at it like we are 2 points behind the Flyers for the last spot, and I know we play them again, so 33% my wrinkled balls

And if that's the way you look at then that's fine by me.

Yep. Hit the nail on the head there. It's the same bush league BS that was going on twenty years ago just in a different form. IMO if you're an Islander fan and not cyncical you're either a moron or need some help. There is some positives don't get me wrong but the problem is it seems management is doing everything in their power to wring out that one positive which is our prospect depth. We saw it with Nino and to a lesser extent with Poulin and Donovan, Nelson. Capuano is terrible which in turn makes Snow incompetent for endorsing him. Never ending revolving door of BS.

what I hate is everytime I go to a game, I mean everytime, I hear someone near me explain to someone why it's done, and literally everytime they explain it wrong.

Either way, the whistle is annoying

I know. I've been going in O&B for 20 years. The only time it was an issue was one playoff series when the guys above us kept trying to throw beer on me and kept missing and hitting the Ranger STH in the seat next to me.

At the end of the Lindros goal wins with 6.3 secs left game in '96 we did change out of our jerseys before leaving our seats (and I was later informed by my FBI boyfriend of the time that the men in suits who came over toward us while we did that were his friends watching out for us).

Pretty much anywhere (even in Philly, believe me) if you don't act like a gibrone you can wear your team's jersey to a game.

I do wonder about people wearing jerseys that are in no way associated with either team to a game. That's just goofy.

Explain to me why someone would wear a Devils Jersey to a Flyers Rangers game. That's frigging stupid if you ask me. Just wear normal clothes if you go to that game.

I hear you . His friends probably had an extra ticket? I don't know? I wouldn't do it more to do with me not going to the game in the first place

I don't think I'm too irrational. But looking the Rangers an seeing them only having a 31% to make the playoffs, it's difficult for me to get excited or believe in this group.
- tomburton99

I think that's the few of us close to the middle, yes they are talented enough to be better but not even close to contend

I didn't think it was possible to think worse of Isles fans but Whaholy Shyt! Some of these comments and rational in regards to Okposo and Stepan who don't even play into each others chances of making the team are so asinine, one Isles fan called Stepan a "fringe NHL player" another claims the NHL is favoring the Rangers.....the NHL? What are these idiots talking about?

Yeah, because that's what I said . Like i said from the second half on the guy has been an absolute horse. I was one of his biggest critics but the guy has been one of our best players through the time I've mentioned as well as consistent. Think maybe you're being a bit hypersensitive with the whole islander thing? I did mention I can care less about the Olympics I'd rather there not be a break so I could watch NHL games instead of the Olympics. I'm not losing sleep that Okposo didn't make the team but I'd take him and Ryan over Callahan and Stepan any day of the week and I'm not saying that bcs I'm an Islander fan or Ottawa fan I'm saying that because they're better players IMO but again, I can give a rats a$$.
- Cptmjl

Really? If Callahan and Stepan shouldn't be on the team then Okposo definitely shouldn't.
