Very good blog as usual Jan.

Nice to see Lundqvist have a full solid game, maybe his best of the season.

I'm not a fan of AV not playing Krieder in the O/T.

Nice get for Toronto with Gleason, scratch Toronto as a destination for DZ.

It's just odd cause Kreider played over 17 minutes in regulation which was one of most out of all the forwards. Also he was on the ice with 30 seconds left in regulation in a tie game. It is hard to believe he doesn't trust him in close games.

Thanks. Hate seeing Kreider sit in OT.

Agree on Gleason, and at this point, keep MDZ if getting a lousy return.

Wow I thought Bobby Ryan would be on it. Surprised no Keith Yandle to. No Kyle Okposo either

I'm sorry, center or no center you put bobby Ryan on this team. I disagree with the defense too. Gotta put buff on there. And no Okoposo?? Isn't he 2nd in Americans in points??

As they should. And I disagree with the defense. Paul Martin, fowler, Faulk? Over yandle, buff, Erik Johnson? Idk....

No Ryan was shocking to say the least.

Faulk over Yandle was a disturbing selection.

My USA Olympic Team view: Derek Stepan very surprisingly gets in, as don't believe he deserved a spot. How there was no Bobby Ryan or Kyle Okposo over Stepan and/or Stastny is beyond me. Same with no Erik or John Johnson or Keith Yandle over Justin Faulk or Paul Martin (but that could change if Martin or Brooks Orpik not fully healthy). I would have taken Ben Bishop over Jimmy Howard, but if Jonathan Quick not 100 per cent, that switch could happen.

Nice read on how team USA was built

Stepan was always a lock and Okposo wasn't even given much of a consideration despite his good season as they didn't feel he fit on the big ice according to the article.

I'm with you. Shocked at a good part of the defense and team in general. I just don't get it.

it's not like making the all-star game, where they take only the stats of the first 41 games into consideration. They surely have roles decided for each player, and I am certain they imagine Stepan and Callahan as the top penalty killing pair.

They are trying to win a gold medal, not create an all-star team

A few very puzzling selections. Stepan gets in cause he's a center, he doesn't deserve it. No Yandle or Ryan is a joke.

I think unlike some, the players and coaches understand, appreciate and respect all that Callahan brings to a hockey team.

I think it's great, I hope it helps him to get his game going towards back to where he was last year

I think Stepan is considered one of the better defensive forwards on the team too, he is a great penalty killer and excellent passer, some great wingers on the team even without Ryan.
