Okposo and ryan don't bridge the gap in offensive talent between us and teams like canada and russia but guys like stepan and cally bring defensive prowess, some history of exceeding in national play, and experience and leadership with cally.

I just have issues with him being selected. He's playing up to the level at which he played last year. However, he's still the best center for the Rangers. The issues with I have with Stepan being selected to play at an Olympics being played on a big ice. Stepan has speed issues and isn't a high quality guy. He probably won't play and if he does he'll be used as the 13th forward.

Let me just play Devils advocate for a minute on how Stepan will play on the bigger ice. You think speed will inhibit him. That may be right. But, Stepan sees the ice and passes the puck real well. I think those are attributes on bigger ice. So, yes, his speed is a negative, but I think there are positives to Stepan on the bigger ice as well.

Pacioretty is a phenomenal player and one of the top wingers in the game. Ryan should make the team over wheeler but pacioretty being on the team shouldn't be questioned.
