well, all stats, both traditional (goals, points, +/-), as well as advanced (corsi, fenwick, etc) would all point to ryan being as good or better. he's neck and neck with kessel in goals and points, and he's miles ahead of parise.......pretty sure the main goal of a top six forward is to put up points. oh, and ryan has been very good in his own end this year too.
i'm not saying he's miles better than these players, but to say that kessel and parise are clearly better then ryan, with ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to back it up, is ridiculous. please explain to me why they're better?
what do homer glasses have to do with this, i'm canadian, i'm happy he's left off the roster. it means that the US isnt' as good as they could be, and ryan is pissed and playing with something to prove for Ottawa - sensarmy_11
Dude just go the (frank) away. Go jerk off on your Crosby team canada poster |

Maybe not if you get last years Stepan. - poisondhearts37
Yeah, I'm guessing he made it because he's a center? He's not on my list(and I doubt many others') for top 13 American forwards. |

I'll take Right now's Okposo over last year's Stepan possibly making an appearance. But if Stepan plays great I'll be thrilled.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not hoping these guys suck because I would like other players on the team. It would be fantastic if I was proven wrong. |

Might wanna go look that up again in in regards to Ryan being as good or better than Parise. You're wrong, Parise has been way better possession-wise this year, it's nit even close. |

What this dude is forgetting is that Ryan accumulated most of those points playing with getzlaf and perry. When did kessel or parise have linemates like that? |

The hockey development in the United States is improving every year. To the point we were neck and neck with you at the last Olympics and will be this year too. You will soon be left in the rear view.
Also, we would crush you in every other sport. It wouldn't even be close. So relax I wasn't talking to you. - mjh609
Hostile much? Calm the (frank) down buddy. Stop perpetuating the stereotype we already look at your country with.
Team USA has made leaps and bounds in hockey and belongs in the top 4. Leave it at that and be proud.[/img] |

Well they have Stastny, Backes, Kesler, Pavelski and Stepan, is Stepan the 4th line center, making one of Kesler/Pavelski a RW, or is Stepan just the 13 forward? Can only speculate. Both are top 9 forwards on this team, in terms of pure hockey ability. |

They wanted 5 centers according to Burnside article. |

Lebrun is saying that USA is banking alot of Kesler to play against Toews and Crosby. Kesler and Pav's both can play C and RW. Pav's could easily be the 4th C. If Bergeron makes Canada he could be theyre 4th C. So we would need Pavs to match up with him. Oshie also plays C. But def not as good as the listed. I figured Backes would center Parise Kane while Stastny would center JVR kessle. Or maybe Kesler. But I figured Kesler would take a more defensive role on a line with the like of Brown Kesler Cally. Or Brown Kesler Wheeler. Then a 4th line of Pacioretty Pavs/Stepan Cally/Wheeler. |

Not sure what you mean. Most of my mother's family lobes in Quebec City and the rest live in Ottawa. Maybe they can explain this stereotype I'm not aware of.
I wasn't trying to start fight but that guy was coming off as a major douche. Being extremely arrogant and it was annoying. |

Exactly, which is why the "Ryan is as good as kessel" argument is a dumb one. |

I'd like to see backes brown and either Callahan or oshie be a line. They would provide a ton of energy. Also, against Canada, I think I'd pair mcdonagh with suter to play against Crosby. |

Well luckily for the US, Backes, Pavelski and Kesler are all awesome two-way players, I agree with you that it makes sense to give Stastny two pure offensive players, but at the same time I could see the coaching staff wanting a strong defensive forward on each line as well for balance. |

kessel and parise have been playing with guys like lupul, JVR, kovalchuk, etc........you're right, those guys SUCK
and for the record (and i'm assuming you don't know this, cuz you seem pretty dumb) ryan spent about half his playing time in anaheim away from getzlaf and perry, including most of his time on the 2nd PP unit. |
