I'd be happy with getting rid of either Hansen, Burrows or Higgins. Hansen has a good cap hit but doesn't seem to have the finish that either Higgins or Burrows has... frustrating stuff, wish Burrows was healthy and contributing.
Whenever I look at the cap geek for the Canucks, Booth's name sticks out... anyone ever see this kid play? maybe if he could get going we might make some noise and do some damage in the playoffs.... - hillbillydeluxe

When it comes to selling high, I'd be looking at what Hamhuis could fetch right now. That superficial Olympic bump to his value could do this franchise a lot of good down the road. He's still nothing more than "solid" IMO and the perception (thanks to his Olympic opportunity) is that he's become elite. - DrChristianTroy
The question is, will he agree to waive his NTC? (he is a local boy, no?) |

I don't see it that way. Daniel has removed himself off the sniper duties and decider to be a passer instead. They had
Kesler playing wing and they dried up with him also - VANTEL
I don't know how many times recently on the pp or even strength I have seen Daniel look around for an open man but ignore the open point shot. I hate seeing Daniel on the point during pp and Henrik is on the 1/2 wall next to him and they go back and forth and ignore Garrison open on the far point.

Kesler doesn't compliment their game anywhere near as well as Burrows.
Santo/Hansen/Booth/Kassian can't hang... None of them complete that line & make the Sedins as effective as they're capable of being. All a waste of time. - DrChristianTroy
Then doc ,we are in deep deep ka ka . If the aging Burrows is the only player in our entire system that can fire up our two most expensive players , then we are screwed. As you see Burrows can get injured. He has had two broken bones this year and I am sure he will have more injuries in the next 4 years. If this was playoff time we should write off the season because AB is injured? |

He does have youth going for him, but haven't seen him prove he is anything more than a good third liner. Higgins appears to be more productive offensively, not sure if he is as physical as Hansen can be, but Hansen isn't always physical.
Burrows is my favourite Canuck, but I have no issues trading him if the price is right. Should not be looked at as a salary dump. A mid first round pick would be a good return for him, I'd say great if we had a better scouting record. |

Burrows is my favourite Canuck also
Hansen is a third liner and makes third line wages. He was a good signing and we should be moving the more expensive players, but if the deal wad right I would move him too |

How well did it work for the Hawks and Pens, for the two you mentioned I mentioned two it did work for . Islanders with those picks have improved drastically and so have the Avs.
oilers problem is they keep drafting the same player, and Panthers are cheap bastards.
St.l and Minny are two other teams that have drafted well. - VANTEL
The Pens got lucky getting Sid and Malkin. The Hawks were horrible for a decade prior, and two of those big pieces of their first cup were FA signings. I'm not against trading a piece or two I just don't want to see a fire sale at all costs. With how competitive the West is if we completely blow it up it could be a decade before we sniff the playoffs again.
If you think watching this team on a nightly basis is frustrating spend a month watching the Oilers and hanging out in their blog. I'm pretty sure your opinion will change quickly. |

One of them fits the image the organization wants to promote one does not. |

Never once suggested fire sale .
Edler Burrows maybe Bieksa
The return for any player would need to be substantial |

I'm all for trading Burrows if we get a return that brings more value to our organization than he does. A 20th overall pick in this draft is hit and miss however. Hell I'll trade anyone if a proper return is there.
What the team really needs though is a true hockey trade where pieces go each way to make both teams (in theory) better off because of it. |

The other thing I have tried to underscore previously (and which I realize is perhaps bordering on 'beating-a-dead-horse territory ) is that, for the most part, I have really enjoyed watching the Canucks brand of hockey over the years (and I have watched a lot of hockey - basically since dinosaurs learned to skate and organize leagues)
Canucks play a exciting and fairly high-tempo/offfensive minded style of hockey and usually provide good entertainment value (and yes, I know there are always going to be bad games or even snooze fests but I'm referring to larger sample size)
The last thing I want to see is 90's Devils hockey or today's Nashville/Phoenix ultra-defensive minded philosophies.

The Neal - Gologoski deal comes to mind... we need something similar. I want to say where was Gillis when Dallas was interested in defense? And how many other GM's were saying similar when Schneids was traded. funny business.

I agree, there were time under AV where it was bad enough. Also, it's one thing to watch your team play that way and win but another thing entirely to watch them suck and do it. |

Aside from Dallas getting raped I agree. I think a trade could be worked out with the Isles or Avs that would be a sound hockey move for both clubs. Whereas a deal with the Jets is not impossible, it would seem to me they'd have to make another trade to unload one of their D before that became more feasible. |

Which part was your favourite ? The 1-3-1 trap that the fans booed , the giving up the 6 th goal of the season to the other teams empty net , or the 4 for 32 shootout record.
There have been more games than usual I have been bored to hell this year |

Its a boys club. Players do what they want to do. Gms do what they want to do. Regardless of the outcome. Lopsided sh!t will continue to happen. |
