What would Wheeler cost??

Tanev + Hansen and a 2nd/3rd?

We might have to throw Booth in as well

But wouldn't you rather have the sure thing in Kane? 30 goal scorer, can fight, hit and I think Torts would set him straight. He's 22 years old and locked up to a great contract. 5.25 million dollar cap hit until 2018 is amazing value for a 30 goal scorer.

Still wouldn't sacrifice Horvat.

And I think Kane will likely be more of a 40 goal guy than a 30 goal guy within a few years.

That's just how high I am on Horvat, and how low I am on thugs with poor attitudes.

Its not like what I said about him isn't true.

But like I said he's talented. And that is all he needs right?

Kassian has as many goals as Hodgson, and 5 more ES goals. He looks a lot more confident in the top 6, I really hope the coaching staff notices that he and Kesler seem to play decent together.
- Nucker101

Imagine that. The project who has played mostly bottom 6 minutes isn't that far off from the saviour.

Switch Horvat to Shinkaruk and i'd do the deal in a heartbeat.

I agree with Carol, Rogers Arena might be the quietest "sold out" arena in hockey, pretty pathetic. Even the Cali teams have louder buildings.
- Nucker101

I agree entirely with Carol when she mentioned the in game presentation at Rogers needs to improve. The Canucks are stuck in the stone ages where they think that the fans should just be happy to watch live hockey. Guess what, I can do that on my giant HD flatscreen in the comfort of my own home, drinking GOOD beer that costs 1/6 of what it costs to drink the swill at Rogers arena. We haven't even caught up to teams that have ice girls yet. WTF???

The Canucks need to realize that they are supposed to be putting on a 3 hour show. It's the difference between attending a concert where the band just stands there and plays and checking out a rock show where the band just gives'er for 2 hours with an actual show, fire, and lots of sh*t blowing up!

Even though I would hate to give up Shinkaruk, I would rather trade him then Horvat.

The reality check happened a while ago, chocolate and shrooms boy

But are you really expecting a win against the best teams in the league while missing so many key players?

I'm actually quite impressed they've been holding on to games against the Ducks and Penguins with the injuries they have.

Giving up leads late in games this often is concerning, but these results against top teams are not that disastrous considering the state of the team.

You were predicting a 6-0 loss and ended up with a 5-4 SOL…

Personally, I have been hopeful for some injuries or scratches to see what else is available from the farm and who will step up. With the PP sucking, I was hoping for a more significant shakeup there than just Sestito being given an opportunity, but it is a start.

Looking at other teams that have injuries and keep on trucking to a certain extent shows the lack of depth on the Canucks. Stamkos goes down, no problem. Crosby goes down, no problem. I never thought Tbay was a deep team and they did okay, Pitts is different, but they have had success or been a threat for as long as Crosby has been there, yet they still have depth.

Maybe the Canucks having Utica will pay off in the next few years... This year definitely seems like a throw away season, similar to every year since the cup run.
We need a D for top 6 trade like the Neal/Goligoski trade.... don't have to give away youth for a rental, just a trade that benefits both teams' needs.

Not to mention the price and availability of tickets is insane.

I'd be ok with it.

Not ecstatic.

Guess it depends what other pieces are in the deal.

I agree to disagree....with all of you.

Edler, Horvat, pick for Kane, Clitsome and the rights to Burmistrov.

Tickets are easy to come by these days! Price is brutal. They keep upping the price without upping the in house content.

If we are trading Edler and Horvat I want Kane and Wheeler.

True, but the Canucks were less than a minute away from beating the Pens with Crosby.

I'm not thrilled with the way this team is playing recently, but at the same time I don't expect them to be beating the top teams in the league with this number of key guys out.

I'll take a point vs. ANH and PIT with a depleted lineup.

But it's clear this team needs additions even when healthy to be a contender.

EDIT: Just over a minute away.

As an out of towner, It would cost me close to $1000 to take my son to a game. And to then watch them blow a 2 goal lead with 1.5 minutes to play is not a good investment.

Exactly. Edler for Wheeler is pretty fair value, if anything jets win. Perhaps throw in Hansen. (frank)ing take it or keep Kane. If he was good as some on this blog made him out to be, he wouldn't be on the block in the 1st place
