"Oh! I thought you said the booze affected us!" Rinaldo said and broke into a huge smile, amidst much laughter.
Classic.
Another solid win for the Flyers who are now firmly planted in the playoff picture. |

Because he played 30 minutes every night against top competition in the playoffs. It was the wear of the playoffs that made him tired, not the olympic break. He, also, managed to play pretty well while tired. - PhillySportsGuy
Those Olympics were also played in the Western Hemisphere in a familiar place.
These Olympics will be played 8 hours ahead in unfamiliar places at times that will screw up their internal clocks. It may not have a huge effect, but it will have an effect.
Im happy Giroux isnt going.

If I'm Colorado, Landeskog is not the piece I'm trading to get a defenseman. - BulliesPhan87
They made Landeskog the face of their franchise.
Why in the blue (frank) would they even consider trading him to begin with? |

Do you think Colorado would do Maata or Despres + Neal for Landeskog? - PhillySportsGuy
I'd think it has to be Maata, not Despres, to get them talking. Even then, I don't think they're looking to move Landeskog at all. |

Plus the Olympic Village is apparently a hedonistic colony that would make Caligula proud. Not good for conserving strength.

There is no correlation between players playing in the Olympics and a team's success in the playoffs. 4 years ago Chicago had all of their best players at the Olympics and still won the Cup. The Flyers have Kimmo, Pronger and Richards (There 3 best players) at the Olympics and still got to the finals. - PhillySportsGuy

After the game, this was Therrien's explanation for his refusal to pull his goaltender in the final 90 seconds and simply conceding the win to Philadelphia: "You know what? In the third period we got four shots on net. When you have momentum and you’re creating a lot of chances, there is a reason why you can take a goalie out, especially when you’re down by two goals. But when you have four shots on net and you’re down by two goals, there is no reason."
This makes absolutely no sense to me whatsoever.
What's the difference losing 4-1 rather than 3-1 if your team has no momentum? All it takes for a team to suddenly find it's legs and find the confidence that didn't exist before is to turn out one decent shift and pot a goal. How many times has a team seemingly dead in the water suddenly come back to life after one positive shift?
Would Therrien have refused a power play in the last two minutes of the game because the team was flat?
If my team had zero shots on goal but had a chance to crawl within one goal late in the game, I'd still be willing to take the risk and pull my goaltender. And if I was the GM, I would've demanded it from my coach.
After the game, Terrien could've make some adjustments - benching players the next game, line demotions, a bag skate, whatever - but should have never conceeded at that point just to make a point.
If I were Bergevin, Terrien would be reading the classifides for new employment today. |

No but he played a lengthy career in the nhl...
"That which doesnt kill you makes you stronger."
Giroux will get over it, and if anything come out with a vengeance when play resumes. I couldnt care less what canada does in the olympics. But i care a lot more how the flyers finish the season. If they're gonna do anything or go anywhere they need Giroux to take his game to another level. Now will he is another question. |

So, the Indians are changing their primary "racist" logo.
I view the term "Yankees" is a derogatory term used by the South during the civil war. Can wel please change the name to the New York Northerners? - jmatchett383
Except it was the Brits who called us Yanks, and I think we kinda fought a war with them or something. Still, good try. |
