If Gus and Downie are fully healthy they should be playing ahead of Meszaros and Rosehill.

Good to hear, and quite frankly it's in the interest of both teams to put it behind them. It would seem to me that the 2 most likely trading partners for the Flyers should be Nashville or Phoenix, both are deep on D and both lack scoring punch up front.

Or Toronto. We are deep at Center... they are deep at D... and neither team is in a position of strength or weakness.

Meszaros hasn't been the worst defenseman of late. Not by a long shot.

With teams so averse to trading in-conference, and the league-wide trade market so tight, I don't think any GM can afford to not talk to another over personal reasons/principle... especially historical trading partners like Poile and Homer.

This is what I was saying when people whined about "burning bridges". I suppose it's possible for these guys to take this stuff personally, but really, it's just business.

Additionally, people forget that Homer and Poile work together to pick Team USA rosters for international play.

Yes. Perhaps the Leafs can steal a radio from a deaf man once again.

I know a deal with Gardiner, Kadri, Toronto 1 and the 2 Schenns can be done.... And I'm sure the Flyers could flip Kardi for another top D-man....

It must be nice to be the fly on the wall in Dave Nonis' office... I hear Burkie left him one hell of a truculent fly swatter though. Please be careful.

According to tweets from practice, Downie is indeed in the lineup and Hartnell is a full participant.

Nonis' office is likely where Burke left his hair brush:

I don't think Toronto's too keen or reacquiring Luke Schenn, especially at the expense of their golden boy Kadri.

Kadri is a joke.

Still stand by the idea that he was a politically correct choice. Hockey Night in Canada has broadcasts in Punjabi, and he is the perfect pick to attract a more diverse crowd.

Kid is a punk who cant play D.

Yeah, you know Nonis is so eager to bring Luke Schenn back to the dressing room to further nurture the great relationship he has with Dion Phaneuf.

Looks like a guy I stepped over on the Subway platform last weekend.

Burke left Toronto with a bang. His last transaction was a real wing dinger.

Yeah, because Louis Leblanc, Scott Glennie, Paajarvi-Svensson, Patrick Holland and Zack Kassian turned out to be soooooo much better?

I wonder if Vinny would waive to go to Toronto and if we could get Gardiner for him...

True, but teams will usually try trading out of conference if all things are relatively equal before swapping with a conference rival.

So wait. We're sitting Jay "Art Ross" Rosehov for these 2 bums?

So what I'm reading is the Flyers need to get off to a fast start and stay out of the penalty box…Should be an interesting night.
