Not to poop on your parade but Mez was the one with the coverage breakdown on Nashville's ES goal.

Agreed, but Raffl's giveaway was pretty horrific before that. Doesn't mean Meszaros didn't get turned the wrong way, but at the same time, I don't always blame defensemen for bang-bang plays after turnovers.

What Meszaros is really illustrating is just how deadly it is to have a defenseman who can think offense and jump into the play.

Man. I know we're waiting to 2016, not moving any assets.

But you can see what this team would look like with another defenseman who can skate, handle the puck, pass well, make solid offensive plays...

Damn it. Patience, patience, patience

- AllInForFlyers

Just a little patience
yeah, yeah

yes. one assist and one goal and a bad gaffe.... i am still stupid/hopeful that he will continue to round back into form. is he ppg now since being released from the press box? with no pp time.

I know. He's had a great month of January. I'm just saying you need to take the bad with the good.

(frank) patience. If you can make a deal that doesn't cause a vast overpayment, make it.

I don't get the moronic mindset of waiting and ignoring possible ways to improve the team now. If you're in the playoffs and get some bounces, who knows what could happen?

Laughton and the 2014 first -- DO IT, HOMER!

Damn it. I really do think they could win the East.

I really do.

I know. When a defenseman creates two goals, it's easier to look away on a poor defensive play, but I won't lie, I will be nervous with Mez on the ice in a tight game.

That 2nd pp unit hardly gets a chance. But with the confidence Mez is playing with they better get him on that unit. Drop cooter. Some heavy shots on that unit

come on, Flyers ... let's play some good, smart hockey here in the 3rd.

I know that doesn't always come easily.

They're not there. Vinny besides GWG has been a black cloud on any line

Who do you think they could get for Laughton and this years 1st? No GM is going to trade an impact dman for an unproven prospect and a mid 1st round pick. Not in today's NHL.

Agreed -- he's still soft on the puck in the defensive zone; I had to grit my teeth and not criticize him a couple of times for getting bumped off of it in the second period.

I've really tried not to be as critical as I was of him -- he's been productive, and he's trying to make a difference out there.

They'll need to move money off the roster. Even with LTIR, they can't afford to fit much of a salary right now

Read with some speed through the middle, looked like he was shot out of a cannon compared to the speed we are used to

That too. I don't see them adding a dman until the offseason. With so many teams already into LTIR, It wouldnt surprise me if they did nothing cept maybe upgrade the 4th line with a deadline deal
