Hey though. That point shouldn't have been gotten.

They found a way to force it to OT.

This is a game where they shouldn't have walked away with a point.

Mason was sharp too. Shame the first 5 shooters couldn't put one past the backup.

- Giroux_Is_God

Man, I'm totally glad for the point -- the Preds don't give up much in the third period or late in games. The Flyers got a PPG with the goalie pulled...I'll take the point.

It's a (frank)ing gimmick. Lecavalier, Giroux, and Read got beat by Hutton in checkers, chess, and chutes and ladders.

They don't get a point tonight if he doesn't make the great saves he made in that 3rd period to keep it at 3.

He is moving a bit closer to average.

I will be fine with a goalie like that, an average guy who has the ability to go on a tear.

Better than most of what we have seen in the last few years. He has definitely slid in his play, and I never buy the notion that a goaltender is completely excused from making saves. You saw what Hutton was able to do with the "unrealistic" stops for his team.

Again though, Mason is the last of this team's problems along with Giroux.

Plus, two of those goals came off ridiculous giveaways, one on the PP...yeah, he gave up three, but man.

That Shea Weber shot...I don't know who in the league's stopping that one.

It is a joke, but lets get real. If the team didn't suck monkey balls at it, we wouldn't all be as annoyed by the shootout.

Its around to stay, and its arrogant to just ignore it as an aspect of the game. Have to improve, practice it more at least. Washington won how many points this year from shootouts? The points matter at the end of the day.

Flyers lucky to get the point tonight ... and probably a bit lucky to get the 2 points against a poor Sabres team. This coming after a Lost Weekend.

They're not playing good hockey right now, especially in the D zone, and they need to get their act together pronto.

Ok seriously?

Did you watch the game?

Did Mason have any shot at making saves on those goals? NOPE.

He made 3 or 4 saves under the 10 minute mark in the 3rd to keep it at 1 goal, and they were all spectacular. He made another one in OT.

"BUT GiG?!! HE LET UP 3 IN A ROW IN THE SHOOTOUT!!!!1!" Yeah, but he saved the first 5 in a row. That should be more than enough.

Im not trying to get into a slap fight against Mason. He is the last of this team's issues.

However did Hutton have a shot at making some of those unreal stops? He made them, and Mason made them earlier in the season. Its nice to know you have a goaltender with that ability.

You missed my sarcasm peanut. I don't hate the shootout. A breakaway is part of hockey. It's not like they are deciding the game by a (frank)ing spelling bee.

Until there is a better solution for eliminating ties, I have no issue with shootouts. Like you said, they aren't going anywhere.

Wouldn't be a fan of them being part of playoff hockey. And zero chance that happens.

Hutton makes that save once in 100 tries. That's an outlier. That's a save that should be ignored if you're comparing goalies.

I can't see a scenario where Schenn is moved back to wing. I do think eventually Berube may bump Vinny back up to the top line and move Raffl down to Coots line. Schenn is just so much more comfortable at center.

Are you talking about the shootout? Hutton's saves in the shootout weren't difficult. You can't pump Hutton's tires if the shots he's facing are terrible to begin with.

Mason was good at the start but was probably tired by the end. He bit hard on two of those goals.
