Dune is, by far, my favorite book.

She's 13? Kids these days. Apparently nonsensical ideological indoctrination starts younger and younger...

Yes, but NY had the Knicks. People of Boston cheer for NE

Then I guess we can say that New Hampshire and Rhode Island both have more Super Bowl titles than Philadelphia.

When the Patriots won the Super Bowl, where was their parade?

I don't know, I don't pay attention to other teams' parade routes.

Except to know that the Devils' was in their parking lot.

Was it? That's kinda sad.

I'm going to guess that Patriot's parade was in Boston, but since I'm not from the area, and I can't stand parades, I'm not positive about that.

You do realize Boston is in New England. If you want to get technical, Gillete Stadium is located in Foxborough, which is 25-45 minutes from Boston. Thats pretty much the same distance people from South Jersey and the suburbs need to travel for sporting events in Philly.

And I'd never say that South Jersey or West Chester have won a Stanley Cup. Now, if the team the Pennsylvania Flyers and was located in, say, KOP, then yes, West Chester could claim them, as could every other PA city, including Philly. But it wouldn't make it a Philadelphia championship. For that matter, I also have an issue with the "Philadelphia" Union.

Sorry, grouchy today. And (frank) Boston.

It's not about the fan base, it's about the location of the team. And the Patriots are not in Boston.

Edit: I know Boston is the closest major metropolitan city, but it's still not Boston.

Foxborough Mass is closer to Providence than it is to Boston.

I work in Newark. Bear is at least a 30-minute drive. I can get from one end of Philly to the other in less time (outside of rush hour).

I hate boston fans, but I'm not sure where this distinction is coming from.... I mean what about the Titans... because their name is Tenessee the whole state can claim it?

Yes. And technically, their stadium is in Nashville, so I'd have no problem naming them the Nashville Titans.

Edit: I'm 98% sure it's in Nashville. I saw it in Nashville, but didn't go down there, and it may be just outside of the city (which is fairly tiny).

It takes me 20 minutes from my work and childhood house. Heck, it takes me longer to drive from work (newcastle) to Home (Bear) then it does to Philly.

Like it or not, 3 point games exist and Boston gets to claim the Patriots as their own.

Then you, sir, deserve a lifetime supply of speeding tickets. I work in Pencader, and it takes me ~40 minutes to make a game.

So the rest of New England can't claim the New England Patriots, only Boston can? That's a bit misleading.

Not as misleading as the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim....

I drive from south of SF to San Jose for work right now about 45 miles ~1 hours San Jose. Lots of Giants and 49er fans in San Jose. Although... the 49ers are moving to Santa Clara

Yup. Pats/Red Sox have enormous followings in RI, Maine, NH, Vermont, and a good portion of Connecticut.

Yet they are the Boston Red Sox, and they play in Boston. So yes, they are a Boston team.
