Canucks to trade EVERYONE - except the Sedins, they're special! |
|
|
|
Eklund, the Devils are still in the playoff picture. If they have a wild card spot on March 5th are they buyers or sellers? Does it matter for Brodeur with Schneider playing so well? |
|

Pittsburgh has ZERO interest in Hemsky.
Pittsburgh DOESN'T need another defenseman. It needs good top six forwards, not named Ales Hemsky. |

Hemsky has been in trade rumours for the last 5 years...and no one is interested as he is way overated and overpaid!!!

Devils aren't really a Cup contender, so even if they are in a playoff spot, I could still see them dealing Marty... |

The Sedins have huge value on the market, why not trade them? Can you imagine what the Canucks would get in return? Enough players and picks to rebuild the team properly. Seriously, they are 33 years old and on the decline. Why wait until they lose value?
Time to rebuild properly!!! |

Still have a hard time believing a contender would take on Marty with his big cap hit. What is his value? A late 2nd? |

I see you've stayed away from mentioning LA as being linked to anyone in this update. I wonder why that is..... |

It is if you're up against the ceiling like half the teams in the NHL |

Probably. Devils can retain salary too. Teams would want him for insurance on a shaky starting goalie. I'd look to SJ and CHI for potential traders. Niemi and Crawford have been average, based on their stats. People say pittsburgh for the flashiness of it all but I think they have no doubts with fleury nor do i think they should |

I hope you are joking about the trade value? They will only play together, and what team will trade for both of them? |

If any team really wants a player at $4MM annually, they'll get it done. Whether a trade happens or not, his cap hit is not going to be the reason it doesn't. |

For the sake of the joke, lets go with it and start a rivalry between the two. Daniel to Montreal and Henrik to the Maple Leafs! |

but does team X have to trade for both of them?
more value in trading one to team X and the other to team Y. not sure they would allow for that. |

I feel their value would be less because they may not be as effective or as productive with one another one separate teams. Hasn't been seen before. For a reason. |

Niemi has more than twice as many wins, a better save percentage and a better goals against average than Brodeur this season. Why replace "average" with below average? |

I would jump on the chance to get the Sedins if they were available. Sure fire way to give the Leafs that top center we need. Only problem is I wouldn't give up a younger top line player for them. Kessel, JVR, Lupul are untouchables along with Reilly, and Phaneuf.
So at that point what would the Canucks want that we can afford to lose? Picks are obvious but likely not what they are willing to take unless they sweeten the deal. Kadri would have to be included but can we package Kadri and another piece or two that wouldn't hurt our team both now and 5 years from now when the Sedins are gone?
Probably not a good move for Leafs long term but makes us pretty damn good in the top six if it was doable.
They would be a great addition but I cannot see Vancouver accepting the pieces we would be willing to offer. |

Not at all, I'm happy for you guys. Losing for 10 years straight was taking its toll on your fan base. |
