Maybe. He'll be another season and a half worse for wear. Regardless, I'd be very happy to see him back. But who knows? If they trade from the forward ranks to bolster the blueline, they might need an extra scoring forward. Hey, a fan can dream, right?
- BulliesPhan87
I wouldn't bring him in to be the guy, or the Flyers' big off-season acquisition, but I just think his presence and leadership could go a long way for the Flyers. Place him somewhere in the top 9. |

There was fine logic behind letting him go and all, but it was still a mistake in retrospect (imo). He brought cosmic balance to the roster. - BulliesPhan87
If the Flyers didn't have to fit Pronger's $4.941 million cap hit on the roster to start every season they might have kept Jagr for the 12-13 season. Dallas only gave him a $4.5m deal.
Quickly adding up these cap hits makes it seems like they were just under the $70.2m ceiling.

I want Pronger back too. My NHL retirement home is below operational capacity. |

I was referring to some of the reports I've read from reporters in Sochi tsk-tsking anyone who thinks Olympic participation is bad for the NHL.
It's a poopty deal for NHL fans. Especially those that buy tickets to games. - johndewar
You mean people like me? Who absolutely loves watching Olympic hockey. And who understands that if the NHL were in session right now, players would be getting hurt every day. |

I mean, we could also bar them from skating anytime other than during NHL regular season and post season games, and keep them bubble wrapped and in cages to prevent injury. We could feed them nutrient paste through cushioned straws (to alleviate the risk of chewing related injury).
Or we could allow them to be the best hockey players in the world, let them pursue hockey glory, and accept the risk of injury. Both are good. |

I understand this point of view and love watching Olympic hockey as well. And in reality, getting injured playing in the Olympics or playing in an NHL game still yields the same result....BUT, its still different in my heart. And probably in the heart of Islanders fans as well.
I know in my mind If Giroux got hurt playing for the Flyers I would be very disappointed, but would know that happens in hockey. But if he got hurt playing for Team Canada, I would be disappointed AND PISSED, because he didn't HAVE To be there. It is what it is. |

We don't have any Finns posting here, do we? I found out from Nike that the Finnish Olympic jersey is available only in Europe. I really want one of the blue jerseys they wore yesterday. But need a helpful Finn. |

When they get hurt in NHL action, I can understand that.
Not this.

Also watching "Olympic hockey" shouldn't automatically mean watching "NHL players".
It didn't for years and shouldn't now. |

Most casual golfers hand injuries are usually a few calluses. Having the shaft of a club shatter resulting in torn ligaments and emergency surgery seems a tad bit unlikely. |
