I don't know I don't think he is great by any means but I still think he is better then Brunner
- blizzzard

I agree, they're both at about the same level to me, but Ryder's cap hit is a mil more. That's the only reason i said him. I feel the same about both of them though. One of them should be moved this summer.

Is Etem that good. I know Anaheim has a lot of prospects, but I think Lou has to decide if he wants a work in progress prospect or an already established young player, like Eberle, 24 in May, or Kane, 23 in August. I think Kane is the less likely because I don't think Lou would want to deal with this attitude.
- Devils9503

Kane would be able to play this system better the Eberle I think. I wouldn't mind Toffoli either but the Kings value him greatly

Jussi Jokinen. More consistent/better two-way player than Brunner.

Ruutu-Zajac-Jagr
Elias-Henrique-Jokinen
Clowe-Zubrus-Ryder
Matteau-Josefson-Bernier

Extra: Brunner, Carter

Also, we need a third line center. Zubrus won't do.

- TheJerseyDevil1

If PDB is the coach no chance Matteau is playing over Carter. Wouldn't mind Jokinen, but we would have to get rid of Brunner. That third line is bad. Would actually like to get an actual center instead of throwing Zubrus there. Get rid of Ryder and put Zubrus in his spot. I think with the cap we have and some players signing we could upgrade center and RW. Get a center, sign Jokinen and trade Ryder and Brunner.

Ruutu-Zajac-Jagr
Clowe-Henrique-Jokinen/Zubrus
Elias- UFA - Jokinen/Zubrus

But there are so many factors from now and free agency. I think we need a Hemsky or Callahan on the right side and either Statsny/Legwand as center. I don't think Jokinen would be that much of an upgrade over Zubrus, production wise though.

If Schneider decided to tell Lou after this season that he doesn't plan on resigning who would you guys want to trade him for ? I don't think this will happen but thought it would be interesting to know

I would love either Toffoli or Pearson. Kings are looking for scoring maybe send Elias to L.A. or one of them. If we are to get younger and faster he is gonna have to go sooner or later.

I would try to acquire Holtby first for nothing since they have Halak now, than trade for a top six/three forward and goalie if we could, Anaheim, Detroit, Edmonton, Florida, Minnesota, or Winnipeg.

I really wondered why we didn't take Pearson. He played for the Colts and was a late bloomer but he was at least a scorer. I felt he had the potential to be the better player between him and Matteau.

Yep, don't understand Conte's thinking on that pick.

Was just looking at tsn's january draft rankings and there looks to be some decent players pegged around 30 at least at the january marker of the season. Vrana was 23th Ho-Sang 29th but he is only 5'11 166 but very talented player, Deangelo 26th but he is a defenseman

So the cap will jump to anywhere between 69-71 M. That gives us anywhere from 19.1-21.1 M in space to resign Jagr, Gelly, the 4th line (maybe), backup to Cory and hopefully not Zid. Also hopefully with the addition of space from buying out Volch.

19.1 alone in space would get us Jagr back at around 3.5-4 M, Gelly might command 2-3 range, 4th line total would be around 2.5 total. Even without a Volch buyout, that has us around 10-11 M to lock up a backup G and go after a couple big namers in FA..

I think Gelinas gets closer to $1.5 million. Larsson might get a bit less. Both on 1 or 2 year deals. We are in a decent position cap wise. I'd try to get rid of Ryder and his $3.5 million remaining. I'd be interested in bringing in Iginla on a 2 year deal for around $11 million. Resign CBGB for $2.5 million. Then sign either a 2nd line LW, or a 3rd line center.

if he is still on the board, and since lou can't trade down, i see no way he passes on deangelo. i know he is a defenseman, but allows lou to move a stiff like larsson, sorry had to say it, lou loves to stockpile young defenseman.

Yea if you are going to upgrade players don't half ass it. Merril still 73 which is debatable considering he has hardly looked out of player for the majority of his time with the big club.

Trick question.
Lou trades no one. They walk & sign elsewhere.

I think Fasth is good enough that they wouldn't give up Hall to slightly upgrade their goalie situation
