A-train and Sal did play well and Marty was huge on the PK early. Todd, Who do you think Marty gets this weekend Florida or TB? |

I think we've finally found a winger for Zajac and Jagr.
I never really liked Lokti so i had no problem with the Ruutu trade, looks like Lou may have worked his magic yet again!
Save of the night was Marty's blind glove save which i believe was in the first, unbelievable. |

Lokti was worthless without Kovy. And I thought this trade could work out. Ruutu fits our style perfectly and he looked good for Finland in the olympics. Also 31 years old isn't that old so I had hope he wasn't done yet like a lot of people thought. Only guy on trade deadline day I remember who liked it was Aaron Ward and that's probably only because he played with him. |

Still a little worried about the contract but if Lou buys out one of the pylons we should be ok. |

I'm guessing Florida but I wouldn't be surprised if Schneider got that start so he can square off against Luongo. |

I really hope he buys out Sal. I think we may be able to trade Anton with less term on his deal. I can't handle Sal for another year nor do I think he is tradeable. He played good last night but still too many times does he not even clear the puck he just gives it too the point man. On those early Kills if it wasn't for Marty standing tall I thought for sure it was only a matter of time before they buried one. One PP they had the puck in the zone for like the entire two mins I swear. And I am a little worried too about Ruutu if he blows out a knee or something it would suck a lot. For what he cost and with the cape expecting to rise it's not as bad. |

Agreed. I see the benefit in playing Cory vs Florida and Luongo. Just a little extra motivation not that he needs it this time of year but still anything to get a little more out of guys can't hurt. |

$3.8 million per season is nothing, especially with the cap rising and the Devils having owners where money won't be an issue. |

Yeah, its not really ruutu's contract itself that I'm worried about, but we have a lot of money tied up in older, gritty players that tend to decline at a younger age. If we keep half of Volchenkov's salary we might be able to trade him this offseason. |

Extremely accurate report from last night. Devils played a great defensive hockey game, and really worked hard for their goals. Marty was spectacular, and the defense was lock down, taking away any second chance opportunities. Kills me to think about how amazing the devils would be right now if they still had Parise and Kovy. But certainly playing like a team that is going to the playoffs. |

PDB should really consider benching Ryder for a game - its bad enough that he hasn't scored in 20+ games but the guy couldn't control give and go passes last night or even clear the defensive zone when the puck was on his stick...very frustrating to watch |

The new roster update has Zajac down from 87-85 which is fair because 87 seems high for him, Elias boosted up from 83-84 I think Jagr got a boost to I don't remember if he was 84 or not but if he wasn't is now lol |

Cautiously optimistic about the playoffs, we're in a good spot and we've always been a good team in the last 20 games of a season...just hope we draw the pens and not the bruins first round if we make it |

I was watching a live stream at work and I could only get the flyers broadcast and they were praising McDonald about his vision on the ice and I'm sitting there thinking "lol wut" you so realize he was an Islander an they're defense was god awful nothings changed |

Like Ruutu so far. Fits in with that line well. Really hope Ryder gets traded in the offseason. I'd be fine with a conditional 7th. Guy is just awful. |

So the cap will jump to anywhere between 69-71 M. That gives us anywhere from 19.1-21.1 M in space to resign Jagr, Gelly, the 4th line (maybe), backup to Cory and hopefully not Zid. Also hopefully with the addition of space from buying out Volch.
19.1 alone in space would get us Jagr back at around 3.5-4 M, Gelly might command 2-3 range, 4th line total would be around 2.5 total. Even without a Volch buyout, that has us around 10-11 M to lock up a backup G and go after a couple big namers in FA.. |

Matteau and Kinkaid also pan out to be beasts now. Gelinas still stays garbage for me though. |

Yea if you are going to upgrade players don't half ass it. Merril still 73 which is debatable considering he has hardly looked out of player for the majority of his time with the big club. |

Larsson's contract is up after this year to. I would imagine both he and Gelinas will get 2 year bridge deals |
