Eli, that is a very mean-spirited response; you must be a hater... I mean John Scott has 6 points in 224 career games. This works out to .0267857 points per game. WTF do you want out of the guy? - mohel
The ability to do more than fight. Asking Scott to skate more than 5 minutes a game and actually be useful defensively too much to ask for?

TT to Rockford is best case scenario. He. Is. Not. Playing. NHL this year. Mayyyyyybe a showcase game at the end of the season when standings are set.
No doctor is going to sign off on an LTIR that does not exist.
Stan and company will not risk losing Regin or Brookbank to waivers when both are proven players.
They won't blow a year of ELC on an unknown quantity especially during playoffs.
Learn to love the team they have. - Return of the Roar

Yeah - and be fair - 2 of those points are goals - and he's coming on strong - half of his goals are this year. - StLBravesFan
Let's get him back to play 2LW next year to protect Kaner out there and chip in the occasional (annual?) goal. |

Does this mean that the so called "great eight" with his 45 goals and -31 isn't a "hockey player" ? Right on, I can live with that. |

Well, if he can keep up his current pace....
Seriously, has any skater ever scored at a lower rate than Mr. Scott? |

Here's my wild speculation about Bulin's injury history....I think he had a legit groin injury that was going to take a couple months to heal. Then I think they found a pre-existing (but legit) shoulder injury that would keep him out for the year. Perhaps it is something he's played with for awhile, but was good with fixing while still on the company nickel. I doubt the surgery was fake, but he left the ice with a groin injury. |

I saw him strolling around the outlet mall in Rosemont around the Holidays spending his well deserved retirement settlement, his rotator cuff was working well enough to reach his wallet

Is Khabby in LTIR or just IR? If he isn't on LTIR, wouldn't that free up 2 mil in cap space? Not sure just spitballing. |

45 goals less 19 on the PP (an amazing stat in itself) = 26 goals earning a plus rating.
That means 31+26=57 minus points gross - include situations where his line-mates would have scored, giving him plus points, and he's certainly been on the ice for an average of more than one goal-against per game.
If my logic is correct.
EDIT to correct math.

Where's Rollpards? He's good with these kind of questions. Probably need a minimum number of games (100?). |

Yeah, 100.
244 games was it? That's 3 full seasons. |

Your wild speculation seems spot on. I pray we never again see him in the lineup. Is there any way Lababs could be brought up to play backup? I like Raanta, but at this point in his career he seems to need to play regularly to be effective. |

Those two things are one in the same. While on the list, the Hawks could go over the cap by the amount of his salary. And since Raanta makes $925K, it allowed the Hawks to have an extra player since the injury. If he had become healthy enough to play, Raanta and another $800K would have to go. Maybe that was Stan's plan all along? Spend too much on him, count on him being injured, replace him with a normal priced goalie, and use the rest of the LTIR exception on a depth forward or d-man. |

With role players with low minutes, wouldn't ppm be a better indicator? |

Hello Q, how's it going? I would guess that they'd rather have Raanta in RFD, but they must see a decent gap between LaBabs and Raanta. |

Yeah, I think it would be a better indicator. Rollie had insomnia last night, so it might take him awhile to get to this. |

i didn't mine the signing, but not for 2mil. Just stupid. often injured and projected for a backup role. CC has been relatively healthy. Raanta possibly as a true #2 down the road. Or bring some other cheap alternative. That move basically cost us Frolik. We basically gave away Frolik for a 4th round pick a year earlier then we had too. - Topshelf2010
