I thought it would have been Zeus, but I was expecting something like this. I'm good with keeping Rozsival fresh for the playoffs.
I wonder who the 6D will be tonight...maybe both Brookbank and Rundblad will play.

Gotta light him up, and I won't lose a bit of sleep over it. That said, I admire what Ray has gone through to play NHL goalie after that injury - he's a tough dude. - mohel

Yes indeed Mr. P !!!!
Q's pre-Detroit practice (s) hopefully shifted the mindset and game plan from perimeter puss'y crud....to NORTH-SOUTH, get dirty and hungry in the high traffic areas and WIN type hockey.
Philly and ST. Loo are perfect foils to see whazzup with our guys. |

The idea was to not pay a 4th line player $2 mill +....That was the thinking and why Frolik isn't here.
The problem was and may still be in some ways ....His PK duties weren't taken over adequately by a younger, cheaper player. - Al
I disagree. I think outside of that terrible "adjustment period" to start the season, the penalty kill has been more than adequate. I haven't done the research to back it up, but I would be curious to see the PK stats since mid-November. I'm guessing they're pretty good. |

Brookbank will play on the 3rd line and Rundblad will play 6D (my guess).

Allow me to preach to the choir, US...
And keeping Frolik (of whom I am a fan) would have meant no Versteeg. The fourth line this year does not miss Frolik, and after the problems early in the year the PK is doing very well. Versteeg on the other hand hand is able to play up on the top lines, and I believe he'll settle into the third line nicely in the playoffs. I don't think Versteeg has played that well since his arrival, but he's more valuable to this team this year that Frolik... - mohel
lol, Versteeg has some offensive upside - not much, brings no physicality and is a liability defensively. Frolik was huge in the playoffs last year. But as you also see - Smith might be destined for bigger things and maybe also wasted on the 4th line - he might be moving up and they can hide Zeus on the fourth line - i guess. But go ahead - attack away.

Not crazy about Runblad playing in Philly. Kinda like throwing a lamb in the lions den.

Still hanging on to this?..... - UnnamedSource
which is it - hawks lack depth? the top players are tired because they play more minutes because of lack of depth and no players can fit into Q's system or that Q trusts. Well Q trusted Frolik. YOu are so classic.
And i was piling on the Bulin signing - and you can't mention that without a Frolik or depth comment.
Ya ya - i know - Q and SB won lots of cups and you can't criticize their poor decisions. Nobody is perfect.
but what is funny - i have witnessed lots of people running companies that are not very smart - happen to be in the right place and right time. When the going gets tough and when there is no room for mistakes - they usually sell or move on or unwilling to change and drive the company to bankrupt. keep going back to the same formula that doesn't work anymore.
i like both Q and SB, but they do make mistakes. A man accepts the mistakes and trys to avoid making the same mistake again.
edit: just a fyi - i am not saying SB or Q are not smart - before someone twists my words. SB has some knowledge and Q has a decent system but sometimes their decisions are questionable. |

I liked it for the game against Detroit. I say ride it until the wheels come off. |

That's what Q tends to do. Smith has been playing some centre on the 4th line this year so it's not a stretch for him. I doubt Smith stays at 2C for long but stick with it while it works. |
