No, not true.
Teuvo has a two way contract. It shouldn't affect the cap at all. However, it might affect his ELC slide. - EKolb13
oooooooooohhh ok .
So TT can go to Rockford for free without any other roster movement ? Then WTF are we all talking about ? Let him play at Rockford and use in playoffs if needed. |

I'm not angry. Used the caps so this guy source would make sure to see it. I suggested we ignore each other last week because it seems like I drive him as crazy as watching Q does to me. Source has been my least favorite poster on here with his "no" bullshiit and I usually just go right past his posts as I suggested he do with mine last week. Difference of opinion is all. But I do notice that when someone gets pissed at him he gives his side yet again and then says lets move on. Yet he keeps the shots coming like a 12 year old with me. Be nice if he could just take his own advice and move on. - 6628
Gotcha, thanks for clearing that up. Didn't mean to interfere in the personal thing there. I enjoy your perspective here. |

The contract slides unless he plays 10 games at the NHL level, according to Cap Geek. So he could play all year at Rockford and still slide. |

I agree, I think Versteeg's knee still isn't 100% and we'll have a better idea of what he can do next season. - DarthKane
Oh, I am pretty sure the knee has been an ongoing rehad for him, but he also knows you pick it up when the silver is to be won.
Dale Tallon had the chance to add a giant forward in Hayes (who he rread was hated by most on this site), who had good hands and skill, but was never gonna stickhandle in a phone booth or quick start, or fly by defenders....and a young kid in Olsen who was having trouble developing his overall defensive game, but Tallon knew the character of both, and made a ballsy move where he bascially was paying for a goodly portion of Versteeg's salary for the chance to try and get these two kids.
At the deadline there really were not very many teams offering up the idea of paying half salaries were there?????
Since so many here love to venture to Capgeek, take the 2.2 mil the hawks are gonna pay Versteeg and see what players you get at that money...you will be surprised not much.
Penquin's Sutter & Jokinen, and Jagr (and a few other slower older vets) and even Frolik makes more.
They brought Versteeg to add another skilled motion player, a scorer, a generator on offensive and a guy who can be brash and distrupt things.
Seems like it works well for the contender and the promise of the pretender Panthers too.

which is it - hawks lack depth? the top players are tired because they play more minutes because of lack of depth and no players can fit into Q's system or that Q trusts. Well Q trusted Frolik. YOu are so classic.
And i was piling on the Bulin signing - and you can't mention that without a Frolik or depth comment.
Ya ya - i know - Q and SB won lots of cups and you can't criticize their poor decisions. Nobody is perfect.
but what is funny - i have witnessed lots of people running companies that are not very smart - happen to be in the right place and right time. When the going gets tough and when there is no room for mistakes - they usually sell or move on or unwilling to change and drive the company to bankrupt. keep going back to the same formula that doesn't work anymore.
i like both Q and SB, but they do make mistakes. A man accepts the mistakes and trys to avoid making the same mistake again.
edit: just a fyi - i am not saying SB or Q are not smart - before someone twists my words. SB has some knowledge and Q has a decent system but sometimes their decisions are questionable. - Topshelf2010
That "some knowledge" and "decent system" seem to be beating everyone else. I love posts like this. Stan and Q so lucky, every GM and coach is better they just don't have the players. Frolik has to be the most overrated Blackhawk of all time, he's really getting big PK minutes in Winnipeg |

After what was tweeted by Capgeek yesterday, this is it. - EKolb13
i know why now - Hawks have 24 players on roster and one on ltir
, makes 23 players. Only 23 players can be on the roster. |

That has nothing to do with it - it is the cap that prevents the addition of ANY player (TT or anyone else). |

the only problem I had with the 2 cups was I felt that we were robbed of the "HOLY poop WE WON THE (frank)ING CUP " moment vs the Flyers because of the mysteriousness of the Kane OT goal , however the over drive of excitement in GAME 6vs Boston still has me on a high . |

Well, maybe it does. The cap is the biggest issue, not the number of men on the roster. |

Most of the guys making comparable money (cap hits) are free agents this summer too so they'll be in line for a raise this summer. Getting a guy with Versteeg's ability and experience for only $2.2 million is a steal. Steeger may not be perfect, but he fits it well with this team and an absolute cap hit bargain.
