No - he gave up 3. - StLBravesFan
What did they say earlier? I think it was in 14 out of 20 with giving up 2 or less? I think that is what they said. So now 14 out of 21 |

If they play with this effort tomorrow forget about it...
VSteeg once again thinks he's PKane with his stickhandling....um he is not.
Raanta has to have that save....I know the Flyers had 37 shots on goal but that is one you have to have...
Dumb penalties...even though the PK was outstanding...you put a lot stress on yourself physically...

Why did Philly have the puck ? - philco28
If he shoots it or dumps it 10 feet deeper, philly still gets the puck. One or two more strides, so they score with 2 or 3 seconds instead of 4. That save HAS to be made

Say what you will about this team, but whether it is Cup Hangover, Olympics, compressed season followed by little off season and another compressed schedule because of the Olympics, this team has played very few complete games this season. Heck, they have played very few games with 20 minutes of solid play. That being said they are still among the top teams in the league. They turn it on for a few minutes at a time and manage to stay in games. How many times have they been blown out? How many times have they lost by 2 goals (without an empty net goal)?
Not sure if they are "coasting" thru this season, knowing they will make the playoffs and can do some damage there if they remain fairly healthy, but at times it sure seems like it. In most games they show periods of time where they totally dominate the game and then just kind of conserve energy the rest of the time.
Until someone knocks them off in the playoffs you have to think they will bring it in the postseason for longer periods, knowing what it will take. Gotta believe it until proven otherwise. - TheTrob
I don't know. This is pretty much the same type of season as 2012. Started well and the faded down the stretch and were bounced in the 1st round. I keep hoping they step up their game but it isn't happening. |

Yeah, you guys are right - bad pass 190 feet away means Raanta doesn't have to make a save.
This team should have been able to get five or six on Emery: offensive struggles continue, especially for core-men not named Toews or Hossa. (I know Shaw scored one tonite - my point stands).
But Raanta easily could have given up 7 or 8 tonite: 4 posts (which would have been two goals), three times lucky when he couldn't get from post-to-post on wraparounds. - StLBravesFan
Hey, everybody....Why so black and white? Can't we agree that Versteeg should have made a better play AND Raanta should have made the save? That's not so hard - and it is correct, too. |

The backup goalie who has played once or twice in a month or two? That's the guy who is supposed to come up with the goalie win? Very reasonable. Let's focus on a team that is supposed to be the best in the league playing in a very inconsistent manner. - mohel
This. I am getting worried about another crappy effot in the O-zone. This team is not paying the price to score ove the last few months. All that really matters is hopefully ending up at #2 and stepping up when it matters most: the playoffs |

Mohel, your right, there was a better play that could have been made by Versteeg, but in the realm of Steeger brain farts this one was pretty mild. He had support behind him, and didn't turn it over at the blue line like normal and give up an odd man break. It wasn't as deep as it could have been, but it was still below the dot/circle. |

So, you're not going to see anything else, eh? OK, but it isn't very analytical of you. - mohel
No I know they didn't play well. But they've lost a lot of games where they have played well. Colorado wins every freaking game playing like the Hawks just did, can you imagine that? Goaltending is the great equalizer, and the Hawks almost always have the second best goaltender on the ice. |

Maybe they should just focus on being rested and ready for game one against COL. Rest some guys a game or two down the stretch, try some sh!t out. It doesn't matter whether they have home ice in that series - if they're playing like they have lately, home ice won't matter; and if they play like they can, home ice won't matter. |

Tomorrow will show us what the future holds for this team.
Big game, must win....that's obvious. However, it's how they respond after this putrid loss against arguably the best team in the west. Will they wilt or will they play like champions? Tomorrow will tell us what some of us suspect or what some of us are afraid to admit.....including myself. |

Yeah, they have been mailing in in for a while this year. I think they realized a bit back that it's going to be Colorado in the first round and they have been coasting. Gotta hope they can turn it on once the playoffs come, |

we do have a better pk this year compared to 2012. but our pp seems to have a kink in it recently (need those timely goals). Regin with 5mins of ice time. We really need to roll 4 lines. BBank looks terrible out there and seems to get winded fast. Not sure what happen to him. Some games it seems like he has his act together. But the last few games were not pretty. |
