Story of the Canucks. We are not great at molding young talent. The best talent we've had in the past ten years have all been traded away.

I have high hopes for bo and Shink. But being a Canucks fan, I also have some large doubts.

And lots of guys on these boards are really high on Gaunce Sorry, I dont see it. I Think the kid will be a dud.

Im most looking forward to shink and Cassels.

Hopefully this Dane fox guy can turn some heads one day but I've never seen him play.

I've never been high on Gaunce but if he tops out as a solid 3C I'll consider it a success. I really think that is his absolute ceiling.

But really it's tough to tell with any of these guys until they're playing in the NHL. I questioned Jensen's prospects last summer only to see him shine when given the appropriate line mates and ice time. Who the hell knows?

Thats the problem with this coaching staff my friend. Horrible at bringing up and molding prospects.

Torts was asked earlier this year why he hasnt got a shot with the Sedins. His answer is because he doesnt think he has earned it.

Jensen has? He got thrown onto the top line and look what happened?!?! He arguably has the most confidence on the team. Maybe if the coaching staff gave Kass that oppurtunity earlier in the year he'd be playing with confidence too.

But no, Lets have him playing with checkers all year and see what he can do with it.

Complete bs in my opinion.

Another reason to tank, once they're mathematically eliminated, Torts has no excuse to not play a guy like Kassian more. I also find it hilarious that Archibald is sitting out in favour of Schroeder and Dalpe on the 4th line, those guys are useless on the 4th....not even Torts fans can defend that. I'd rather see Lain and Archibald out there with Sestito, guys who can make an impact at least physically if only getting 5 or 6 mins a night. Dalpe and Schroeder look like tweeners to me.

Schroeder has no future with this team, or likely any other for that matter. Dalpe is a decent bottom sixe forward, but is next to pointless on the fourth line.

Agreed.

I think expectations need to be tempered here. The kid we draft at that position may be a key piece towards a future core but he'll still be a kid that could easily be developed wrong or not make the leap to the NHL and end up being a dud.
- AlexF

Just need to draft a Stojanov then let our new GM Mr. Naslund trade the bad pick for himself.

This I agree with. Play the players where they are expected to play/perform. If by tank you mean bring up guys to fill the roles you imagine they will fill in the future then I'm good with that.

the playing rookies on the 4th line is always the worst plan. Just gets them beat up.

I realize the players aren't gonna tank, but I'm just hoping they lose some games.

Ill go back to normal next season....unless they suck again.

Wait...what?

Lain is 6'6 and 220+
Archibald is 6'3 and 215

Both guys have dropped the gloves multiple times in the AHL.

Schroeder is 5'8 and 180
Dalpe is 6'1 and 195

They're useless on the 4th and not good enough for the top 9 right now IMO. Schroeder's development likely was mishandled.

Oh..

Those guys aren't even rookies anymore either. I bet both end up being career 1st liners in the AHL.

Kesler does not like Luongo. He doesn't like anything about Canada. I thought that was clear. He'll play anywhere outside of Canada including Montreal or Quebec once the Panthers relocate there.

LOL. I thought of that too. When a Panthers fan is trolling your site you're either dreaming, hit rock bottom, or have officially seen it all. Might even be all of the above.

Game's at 7.

Jensen is playing so well I expect Gillis to trade him at the draft to move up a spot or two.

Great to see a guy who, according to our coach & management, is not NHL ready, doing so well.
They can't even assess their own talent properly.

I would give Gillis more credit then that. He would trade Jensen for Reimer. Can claim he wants to be here because he is from BC.
