I don't think they necessarily took the wrong players, but I think they have been afraid to make trades and work with what they have. I think they are of they mind that you hold onto your draft picks and don't toss away your future. What they need is defensive help and should trade away one of their forwards (Yaks) for an established and still relatively young #2 or 3 dman with a 5 year contract or rfa and a pick or prospect... If they could get a #1... should they trade one of their big 3?

Ugh. If you can't see that what Torts said IS a real compliment, you don't know sh!t about hockey. Anybody can stack 4 assists on any given night. You want your players to play a controlled responsible cerebral well rounded game. What Torts said is basically "don't jerk off to stats you morons, recognize the fact that Kassian finally put together an all around solid performance and his assists were a byproduct of that."

Exactly. Relax about what Torts said. Any moron can read a scoresheet. What I think Torts was saying ( I don't know for sure because I can't read his mind) is that Kassian was playing a complete game. That is something that everyone has wanted from him.
