Barry Trotz has done a great job. They lost a top-3 league-wide defenseman, they have little offensive pop (no one that teams are afraid of), and had their starting goalie miss the bulk of the regular season. Given the pieces he had, he did fine. If anything, Poile should be the man taking the heat, as he's been unable to lure any big-name offensive player to town. Having a great defense and a great goaltender is a nice situation to be in, but you also need someone who can put the puck in the net more than Patrick Hornqvist and Craig Smith. |

Trotz has been a class act for many years & should be praised for his loyalty & hard work he has put in here, but it has been overdue for a few seasons now, it is becoming more obvious. A new system & new faces I still believe, will work wonders for the Preds. However, I still think Poile needs to be held just as responsible, and be shown the door as well. |

Unless Poile has a better replacement in mind, firing Trotz will do nothing for the franchise. They missed the playoffs by a few points with Pekka out for 51 games and not being his dominant self for the games he did play.
The Preds need a veteran on the blueline...someone to bring some nastiness preferably.
Stalberg needs to go...he is (frank)ing awful. And I am very much on the fence about Wilson...I am really doubting this guy.
If the Preds can get 2 playmakers for next year, they make the playoffs easily. They were outright horrible at times this year and barely missed the playoffs. I hold Poile more responsible for this season than I do Trotz. |

Gut feeling is Wilson will be traded this off season maybe w/ stalberg plus other players. Love Wilson but Preds need to put a package together for an elite C! |

Dumb question but if Preds beat stars in regulation last week, do the stars still go to the playoffs b/c of less overall losses? |

What would a team trade for a guy that has not performed?
And no "elite" C is coming to this team in their prime...unless forced by trade. The only elite players in their primes that this team is getting is from the draft. |

If the Preds had won that game in regulation, there would have been a 3-way tie in point (89) for the final playoff spot. Nashville would have had the tie-breaker with more regulation/overtime wins. The Preds would have been in the playoffs. |
