Look--this is a pretty carpy decision for Gusty. I wonder what tipped the scales in Gil's favor and how long it took Cheif to mullet over.

Wow, didn't know Giroux was leading this round in face off %..

"Giroux is the leader in the series in faceoff percentage, winning 60.3 percent of his draws. He has two assists but, more important, leads the Flyers with a plus-3 rating. "

I'm OK with Gill playing, but I'm not impressed by the reluctance to even consider playing Laughton on the 4th line. Rinaldo contributes nothing or less than nothing.

If he is going to struggle offensively (compared to his usual production) for whatever reasons they are, it's nice to see he's contributing in other areas

I would swap Raffl for Laughton in a second.
Rinaldo at least can change the game, for good or bad, with a huge hit.
Not sure what Raffl brings right now.

Raffl is still one of our best PKers, something Rinaldo can't do well.

They could also sit Rinaldo and play all 7 D.

i had a dream last night that one of the rags top pairing D men was injured during the game....of course the game was being played outside in a park, on grass, and he hit a tree chasing a loose puck.....other than that it was pretty realistic

They need to give McDonagh the Bobby Orr treatment today. Dump the puck in to his corner with speed and pound pound pound away.

They seem to be struggling with the speed part. For whatever reason, we can't seem to figure out how to play with speed against a team like the Rangers.

I really think we are lucky to be tied at 2 games. If the Flyers show up to play the way they are capable of, the next 2 games are ours. They're a talented group but they are missing something I just can't figure out what it is.

And for the love of god, lets end this Hartnell must be on the top line mentality. He shouldn't get the minutes he gets with Giroux with the way he's playing this late in his career.

So aside from Ghost, what prospects are currently practicing with the team? I assumed Laughton would be down after they were eliminated, but I don't recall ever hearing about it, but then again, I do a darn good job at forgetting things..

Rangers top line of Nash, Stepan, and MSL - 12 points

Rangers get them on the ice with favorable matchups as often as possible. If I'm not mistaken they try to get them on the ice against VL's line when possible. Often pays off for them too.

Hopefully, today Berube does a better job matching lines. He's done a rough job in that department.

They also need to hurry the hell up and hustle during line changes. Tired of seeing the Rangers dump the puck in and both teams go for a change and the Rangers change so fast that they're in our zone forcing turnovers before our forwards even get ready for the pass out of the zone.

Rinaldo when he plays his game is very valuable to this team. I thought he had an excellent last game. Not sure if I'd go screwing around too much with the lineup in the playoffs unless absolutely needed.

This isn't for lack of trying on the Rangers part.

With some of the tackles out there I'm surprised the giants haven't signed these guys

this hurts the flyers chances of winning it all. by the time they would get to the scf they would have been shorthanded 80 times while only getting about 40 power plays. i really hope someone in the nhl office buys a calender one of these days so they realize it isn't 1975 anymore

The Giants?? I'm thinking with all the acting going on every time a Flyer even approaches a Ranger, they must be trying out for Broadway!!

Hey GiG, I just read your story on the other thread. Great work. Schools completely evaluate teachers based on numbers. They want a traditional bell curve with the students spending an exorbitant amount of time on the class. If they took the time to speak with students, they'd get a much better idea of how good the teachers are.

I agree, though it doesn't seem to be hurting Montreal or Boston in the slightest.
