It'd be interesting to see what would happen if they beat up Richards or St. Louis like Giroux has been -- he's been trying to play through but it's been tough - AllInForFlyers
msl hasn't been touched. in fact, he danced in behind our slug defense to tap in the negated ranger 2nd goal. it's embarrassing a player that old and small is being allowed to torch them. |

Back in forth maybe with wins, but the Rangers have dominated the Flyers for most of the series. The only way that trend breaks is the if the Flyers start dictating the play and they have yet to do that. - Daveflyers36
Back and forth while bringing their C game. They played much better than this during the season and if they can do it for two more games they will win. |

I just want to throw up because of how passive the Flyers have been playing. They cannot and will not win that way. St.Louis has been given the entire ice to skate around and do what he wants. |

Gil laid a nice hit on him today. First one of the series though. |

His speed is a real problem for our bottom six -- has been all series |

I wouldn't be surprised to see Kimmo retire. The only real locks on the blueline are MacDonald and Streit at this point. I think two of Schenn, Grossman, and Coburn will be back. Unless Ghost really bombs in training camp, I expect him to be in the top 6. That leaves one open spot at this point I have no clue. - ravishingone
yeah i can see the majority of that. i just think that at least how the defense is currently constructed, coburn isnt some piece who can just haphazardly be shipped out. |

The passive play is not at all what I expected.
It's like they were told ,"hold back so you dont take penalties" rather than playing what allowed them to be one of the top 5 teams in the league over the past 4 months. |

Problem is that the Flyers this season have not handled adversity all that well. They tend to tuck their tails betweent their legs and feel sorry for themselves. This team has not played good hockey against a good team since the middle of March. |

Timonen has had a weak series - funmaster18
He's 39, a smallish defenseman who has had an unbelieveable career. I understand why they resigned him last offseason, but I think they realize it is time to move on because 82 games just wears him out. He got old, it happens, need at least 2 of the 3 kids to evolve in top 4 dmen.

That's the killer, though -- you mug him, they call it, you get scored on...there's no way to know how it ends for you |

I expected a brutal series and even if the Flyers would be down 3-2 at this point but playing tough hard hockey, I would be fine with it but this is not Flyers hockey and that is what I am having the hardest time with. |

They needed to cash in on those early PPs. How could a team with a decent PP look so bad? That's when you miss a soft and overpaid guy like Brier who finds a way to show up in big games. Still believe that game 6 is winnable. The crowd and last changes will help. Need to find a way to score first. I believe the Rangers are a better team but not by a lot. - 2731color

And just for the fact on officiating? It has been poor all series.
However. The Rangers have mugged Giroux, and gotten away with it. They have taken it to the Flyers with borderline dirty plays.
People can female dog and moan all they want, but the Flyers can play that game the same as NY. They are choosing not to.
Have themselves to blame. - flyer_nutter
You cannot blame the refs for this series. It is simple the Rags are out playing the Flyers. |

To be fair he's probably held together by duct tape at this point and still going out there. I admire him but he looks like a different guy lately. |

I can't and don't agree with any of that.
How many come from behinds did they complete this season?
How hard was their schedule and they have an above 500 over the last 6 weeks of the season.

I agree, I think Coburn only gets moved as part of a package to get a bona fide top flight dmen (which quite honestly probably isn't going to be available). Grossman or Schenn would be moved at a much lower price to remove the salary burden to bring in another dman thru free agency.
