If we are talking about players that are overvalued then at a certain point it's fair to put Couturier on that list. - opeth_pa
Schenn at the top of the list. Amiright? |

Agreed.
Giroux is the only untouchable they have.
Next level is Jake and Couturier which I would only move to get a number 1 dman under 30.
After that all players are open. - opeth_pa
I would hate to trade Jake. I'm only trading him for someone like Jamie Benn or OEL, and that isn't going to happen.
JV is really the only top level guy who has brought it this series.
And Mase on Friday was spectacular.
Something is off with G. |

Nothing's worse than signing a goalie to 9 years $51 million and then having him put up a pathetic .905 SV% in two seasons as a starter. - Feanor
true.
But Vinny has been horrible. This year he had 37 points, and has looked awful in any position he is put in. All while being paid 4.5 million.
He has 4 more years on his deal, and it all but unmovable, imo. |

Probably seven years. The Flyers roster sorely needs a guy who can be a sniper. Vinny was supposed to be that guy, unfortunately it looks like he can't skate anymore to get into position.
- ravishingone
yeah. i think right around 7 for 52 or 53 will likely be it. and to me, thats worrisome. i know i wouldnt want to even make a call as the pens, but i understand other teams have different cap landscapes.
its a shame how vinny has degenerated. overall, i was pretty happy that you guys signed him to that. he still has some skill, and his cap hit isnt a killer, but in a year or two it might be really, really rough to have him around.
in all fairness though, id wait until he has an offseason to actually heal to fully evaluate him. he looked pretty nice before the injury. and the hands and vision are still there, he just doesnt seem like he can move much, which could be attributed to the back. |

You can scout Simmonds next round.
- landros 2
i still think that has a very very likely chance of happening. but i dont need to scout anymore. im beyond sold |

he looks so slow
and really he has only been good when he can get set up for his shot in the O zone
he still has a great shot, but hope he can get some semblance of skating next season, and it is because of his injury |

Nobody on any team is untouchable. A GM would easily part with any player for the right price. Take Giroux for instance, Flyers are not looking to trade him but if a GM comes along and offers, Weber+ or Pavelski, Couture, Braun and maybe a pick or top prospect, you're telling me you wouldn't consider it? Obviously deals like this are not likely but stranger things would happen. Richards and Carter were untouchable and they both got traded because the right offer presented itself |

Minny has cap space, and the rumors point to Vanek want to go there. The Vinny question is two fold. First, the back, how is it? Second, pretty sure he won't be thrilled being slotted into a 4th line center role. Next season this team looks to have a slew of centermen on the roster, does he automatically get to stay on the 2nd line? His lack of mobility is very worrisome, not like guys in their 30s get speed back. |

yeah. ive heard the minny rumors. my god that will be a lot of money tied up in parise, suter, and vanek.
and yeah with vinny you dont know if the speed is just he is old, or how much he can get back from being healthy. only way to find out is it see. the position thing is another reason i was glad the flyers signed him. i never viewed him as a need. thats only becoming more apparent as guys grow. |

I really wonder if they thought moving Vinny to wing would be seamless. I'm really not sure. A lot of fans (myself included) didn't understand B. Schenn being bounced from center to accommodate Briere last year, who looked to have lost step. Out goes Briere and in comes Vinny which presents the same problems.
I think Laughton starts on the 4th line next year, 2nd line center who knows.

You know what makes mad is that they weren't hitting... Quit the bullpoop after the play and just (frank)ing nail them every chance you get. Dump it in mcdonaighs corner and hit him every chance you get instead of trying this passes that get gobbled up. Mcdonaigh and girardi need to be hit every shift. They should be beaten to pulps by now but are not. Too many flyers letting up |

The flyers are getting killed with speed. Tough to hit when the play is going the other way. |

true. if you want to commit to this youth movement, then if youre doing it. dont (frank) with schenn. give him a spot, and let him grow there.
although briere did have a good deal of credit built up in the bank. and if he wasnt at center, he was god awful.
ive never played the game at a high level, and i dont hold it against the players, but it is funny sometimes to see how difficult it is to transition from C to W. |

Missed the game... from the highlights and stats, it looks like Hal Gill had himself a whale of a game. Can we put Gus in now? |

Briere actually wasn't that bad as a winger... he had success there with us and w Buffalo.
Vinny is about as non-versatile of a player as I've ever seen... unless he's somewhere in the right offensive circle, or high in the slot, he might as well be on Mars. |

he actually played pretty well imo, and unfortunately missed a chance at the ranger net and it ended up going in on a scramble in front of theirs. coburn fed a puck into his feet that turned into another goal. i think gus would have made very little difference in this game. they collectively sucked. |

they're losing a lot of battles and seem to not be in the right place. the rangers are constantly moving and getting to most of the loose pucks. the flyers are slow with making puck decisions. the lack of urgency today was most alarming. it was like going through the motions of a game in winnipeg in january. |

all their secondary depth has been invisible, but he's been particularly bad. voracek and akeson have been their best offensive forwards. |

That play Duncan Keith just made to keep the puck in the at the blueline... wow
Flyers have no one that does that.
Kimmo has been ineffective at that lately |
