I don't even know what the Blues do now -- they truly, truly thought they were going extremely deep - AllInForFlyers
i understand that to get to the top of the mountain, they have to go through Chicago eventually. i know the results are what they are, but i wouldnt view this as your prototypical good regular season first round collapse. |

They got hit with some bad luck with injuries at the end of the season and ended up dropping out of first they had almost all year
Still a great club
Not sure what they do with goalie position going forward |

yeah. i wouldnt want to blow up what they have going on right now. the miller thing backfired, but its hard to fault the thought process.
i wonder how much money, if any, miller has cost himself this series |

I could see them signing Ray Emery. He was 17-1 two years ago, the fact he's 10-14 this year is an abberation. |

Grass is always greener on the other side. With some Flyers fans the players on other teams are always better. And if Giroux was the player on Colorado, and we had McKinnon. It would be let's trade for Giroux. All last Summer your position was Coburn has to be traded, for whatever we can get for him, because he's a bum. Where would this defense be without Coburn? And trading Coburn, just to trade him, would've been a colossal mistake.
So who the the whipping boy for this Summer? |

Whoa Whoa your fast forwarding too the summer?? Theres still plenty of hockey to be played. If you want to get in a pissy fight about that thats fine. Didnt know that was your style. But hey, I've got your dynamite assertion in my back pocket too. |

I think the Blues have holes at center. Backes #1 center. Their blueline is great, but up the middle is lacking. I don't see the need to have Backes and Ott both on the same team, offer a lot of the same talents.

My style? I said the Flyers are going to win game 6, and what was your response? If you disagree that's fine, but no need for the comment that was made. And I'll gladly put my track record up for comparison. Starting with stating last Summer that trading Coburn just to trade him was ridiculous. |

im not saying they are perfect. but what would you have them do? ott was a little overkill. they could use a little more skill up front.
my god what id do to get backes out of there. |

They have cap room flexibility, but major holes. I think they make a big push to resign Miller. He didn't cost them the series. Schwartz is gonna be a player, but I would be very concerned that is best year Steen is going to have in his career. His cap hit is reasonable, but they need more scoring depth to compete with Chicago and Colorado within that division.

Flyers aren't down in this Series because of Gill and Rinaldo. They aren't down in this Series due to their defense, or goaltending. In my view, they're down in this Series, because forwards such as Giroux, Hartnell, Simmonds, and Lecavalier, aren't doing enough.

One of those teams that needs to be tweaked. Great defense, and they play a very sound team game. But need a little more skill up front. |

agree with all of this. theyre not there yet, but they have some pieces. i totally agree about steen. nice depth player, but not what he was this year. schwartz is gonna be a good one. i think tarasenko is really nice too. his absence hurt.
like i said. hopefully they panic and say yeah, we need to get rid of all of this grit. sorry backes. gotta go |

So Brodeur is classless for not shaking Avery's hand? |
