I personally feel that in the right situation, that Lecavalier is still a good player capable of putting up significant points offensively. I think the injury, and the position change, were the main issues in his disappointing Season. It would also help to play him with a play making LW, which the Flyers don't have. So if that assessment of Lecavalier is correct, I would think there would be some teams that would value that kind of player. Of course there is the back issue, and the NMC. - MJL
Vinny has been a health issue for a few years now and even when the Flyers signed him I was happy but also concerned. I can't even trade the guy in my keeper league, he has no value because of what he is going to break next. |

After watching a Vinny interview about centering the 4th line, he looked pissed and said it is what it is and I just do my best. He will waive to go almost anywhere as long as he gets a top six role. The Leafs and Flames could use him, lol. The Isles too but not sure they would let him go there. - flyerdude17
Trouble remains with his salary, injuries and declining play. In the last 4 seasons he's missed 57 games. He's not an especially good skater, and despite acceptable overall offensive numbers, his production isn't exactly great.
In the right situation, with the right line mates , he might be better, but not sure how much better. I mean even as a PP specialist, the Flyers PP performed better without Vinny, than with him |

i would love for him to work out here. it's possible still. he just looked slow and virtually ineffective in every way. who knows how much the fracture really hampered him. something that's not been said really is that sometimes guys who play in one place for a very long time have a hard time adjusting to a new team, new city, etc. sure, he looked pretty decent early on, but who's to say he would have kept that up had he not suffered the injury. it's possible he just didn't acclimate very well in general, and he'll be much better next season. |

He's missed 51 games since 2010. 33 of which were for two separate broken right hands. I don't think those injuries would be cause of concern for another team. His back health, is a different story.

You ever sit thru 6 innings of 9-10 year old, kid pitch softball? I'd rather have a vasectomy without anesthesia than endure this with out an iPad |

Hextall spoke about guys fitting in...does Lecavalier really fit well with anyone? Streaky play is a lot more acceptable from a 22 year old kid than a 34 year old ex-star |

He scored at a 67 point pace for a full season in the strike shortened 12-13 season. And the seasons before that, he was still around a 25 goal 50 point player. That kind of production is well worth a 4.5M Cap hit in todays game.
Not sure how the Flyers PP performed better without him them with him. His PP production was very good for a player who played a lot on the 2nd PP unit.

he might not ever. i'm just saying it's good to remind ourselves that these guys are human and sometimes there's an adjustment period. sometimes it's just that they hit the wall. i'm not sure what's going on here. i want to give bunny the benefit of the doubt - but it might be a waste. |

I see that as more of an issue. I believe for the Flyers to maximize the value of Lecavalier in the lineup, they need to change the mix of forwards. He needs a play maker on the Wing to play with, preferably a LW. Lecavalier is a shooting Center, not a puck carrying and play making center. I personally don't think the Flyers should be catering their off season tweaking of the roster, around a 34 year old player. If they feel he can fit in with the current direction of the club, then fine. Keep him. But don't alter the direction of the team to suit Lecavalier. |

Absolutely. I doubt they buy him out, and I also can't see them trading him & eating significant cap space(I.e. 50%). That said, the way He tall was speaking I expect them to shop him |

I'd like to see Emery back, for what it's worth. That tandem really played well and fed off each other, it seemed. |

Surprise surprise...
Mr. Anti Stats is the first to bring up the subject again, because he just can't wait to crawl on his soapbox and repeat the same tired argument about misuse, context, false data, false positives, complete with quotes from hockey dinosaurs from yesteryear.
If you hate it when people use or talk about stats in here, then STOP BRINGING THEM UP ALL THE TIME.
(And look, another creepy invite into his private thread... nice)
