(frank)ing christ theyre flat. heres the lack of mental urgency we all know and love - stayinthefnnet
really poor period overall for them. still, a couple of near misses by crosby and co. plenty of time to win this game. |

they have to at least match the rangers intensity. if they dont do that, they wont win. its that simple.
kind if hated the first goal from fleury. the second one, the entire team collapsed.
still, they gave up 17 shots in one period to this team. unacceptable, and directly correlated to a lack of effort. |

true. can't expect the goalie to make 17 saves in a period. too much opportunity. |

their powerplay is awful.
but malkin is the most talented player in the world. not the most consistent. but the most talented. |

still a lot of time.
they almost tied it up but got too cute. 30 seconds later it's 3-1 and then 4-1 off the 2many men/failed clear...it's like watching a flyers game. |

Surprise surprise...
Mr. Anti Stats is the first to bring up the subject again, because he just can't wait to crawl on his soapbox and repeat the same tired argument about misuse, context, false data, false positives, complete with quotes from hockey dinosaurs from yesteryear.
If you hate it when people use or talk about stats in here, then STOP BRINGING THEM UP ALL THE TIME.
(And look, another creepy invite into his private thread... nice)
- Tomahawk
The thread is not private. Nor did I create the thread, so it not mine. And it is incorrect to state that I'm anti towards stats. |

i just ugh. (frank)ing scuderi.
they just dont have it tonight. its a shame because malkin literally was putting the team on his back. he truly is special to watch when he does that. but right now, the wrong guys are trying to get fancy. other guys need to go back to being effort and speed guys and stop the drop passing and threading the needles. |

he does seem to be the only one going tonight, and maybe it's my imagination, but it also seems like crosby's not getting a ton of ice either at this stage. maybe that'll change if they pot one late here on the pp. |

ever. its annoying. (frank) girardi for that straight tackle.
that pretty much seals it. make it 4 2 and you have a shot. oh well. on to game 6.
(frank) this team though. i realize theyre spanking them, but theyre not even that good. |

That 5-on-3 kill with the Penguins unable to get a solid scoring chance is something Giroux and company have plenty experience with. |

Looked like that had a chance to go in if it didn't hit Kunitz.

McDonaugh took a Giroux slapper to his back that looked to hurt him a bit but not enough to keep him out of the lineup. |
