nope average viewer see power play and goal = them happy
- 2Real

(i realize the rags have potted 2 on the pp tonight) but then really, this series must be brutal to the average fan haha

both of these powerplays are pathetic.

but no, i think that the average fan would enjoy seeing a guy like crosby or giroux tear through the neutral zone unheld, uninterfered with, unhooked, and doing what they do best.

Not that it matters, but pulling the goalie with 3 minutes left down 4-1?

your team is perhaps the dirtiest team in the league. james kneel should come out of the locker room, skate to the penalty box and stay there the whole game. thank God they finally stopped falling for crosby's diving act.....just be thankful they let you get away w/ murder an stop crying you don't get 27 5 on 3's a game

there is something i will agree with you though. perhaps its because ive never been able to afford a playoff game ticket. but it bothers me that people are leaving right now.

it was more like 5 minutes. and every time a coach does this now, pierre fellates patrick roy as if it's some ingenious tactic.

never once in any of these posts have i ever defended james neal, or anything he does. and what he may or may not do is fairly irrelevant to the issue at hand being discussed. id never say the pens dont do their fair share of stupid, and yes, sometimes dirty poop throughout the year.

but once again. that does not justify, nor in any way particularly pertain to, the notion that the NHL completely alters its game and negatively impacts its own product in the post season. you saw it yourself with your own team

- stayinthefnnet

no i get to see my team get called all the time. your team doesn't get as many calls? so what they get away w/ twice the penalties. truthfully i would much rather have my team play at the line or over the line and not be shorthanded for 25 minutes a night than get a bunch of powerplays

might as well stay and watch - even if it's horrible. i stayed for every single second of the flyers 7-1 drubbing in game 6 against buffalo in 2006 to end the season. it was horrendous in every way. i think i wanted to see if the sabres would get 10. you just start laughing after awhile...pretend you're at a comedy show, because you pretty much are.

not me. staple neals ass to the (frank)ing box. i dont care. maybe then hed learn to stop being such a god damn douche bag.

im not arguing for free rein for the pens to do whatever they want. malkin wants to slew foot and slash. go to the box. im fine with it.

i just want consistency. this isnt about the pens being allowed to be on an extended PP. actually, my desired result isnt powerplays at all. its about actually hoping players just stop doing it during the even strength play, and allowing the game to be played without players doing whatever they want.

sorry. i dont know why i said islander. but yeah you know what i mean.

and yes. he was. like okay, yes i wanted them to lose. but i can root against the flyers without being a douche bag. thats a poopty way to go down. and then people lament why star players dive. he shouldnt have to dive undergoing what he did that series.

i figured you meant rangers.

very big of you to root against them in a non-douche capacity. hard for me to do that.

i mean i want them to lose. i hate him. he is your crosby. ridiculously skilled, slightly whiney, does his little scrumming but isnt exactly a tough guy. but i respect the hell out of him. hes one of the games finest playmakers. the games just arent as good if he can be wallpapered by some third line scrub continuously without repercussions. it would be like if he got injured or something and they lost. i dont know. not really any honor in that.

Working on it in case they need to go 6 on 5 for a reason later.

His comment the other day that his game is made for the playoffs (and he looked serious) was laughable.

He can be effective in the playoffs, but the problems come when he gets too geeked and gets stupid and dirty.

The refs have been terrible pretty much the entire playoffs. Very inconsistent work, and it's league wide. Of course when the refs are so bad that Tim (frank)ing Peel is working round two, you gotta be scraping the bottom of the bucket
- Jsaquella

Yeah it's a shame. The NHL made such great strides walking away from the clutch-and-grab era but these playoffs look nearly identical to the playoffs from the late 1990's.

or should I just assume its the usual ongoing arguments concerning analytics, bad refereeing and why everything is really all Ed Sniders fault?

Embellishing is different than diving. I don't remember any dives from G this past series. And no matter what, I despise diving. G did get caught a couple times this season looking and waiting for a call while the play was moving up the the ice and I wanted to punch him in the f'n head for it.
