Well said Tony. Even though you tend to get a little fired up over losses, bad penalties, unruly behavior from the opposition, you do a heck of a job with your blogs and I just wanted you to know it's appreciated.
Lets hope this next step in the right direction leads to a bigger following around here. If not, it's always fun to go back and forth with you, Brad, Gump, Chin and a few of the others that have made more of an appearance as of late. Everyone that posts here seems to have a pretty good understanding of this team and of the game in general, so it's always a pleasure to hear the different point of views.
Sorry for having to put up with my negativity towards certain individuals of the Wild organization... who shall not be named at this point in time
I promise to work on that for next season. Especially if Nanne is correct and Koivu could be dealt in the near future! |

They lost on a bad bounce junky goal to end their season. - Tony Dean
I think I know what you mean, but there was nothing junky about the actual goal. The bounce was a bad one, yes. But give Kane credit for an unbelievable set of hands. That's a bang-bang play in tight in overtime of a Stanley Cup playoff game and he goes forehand to backhand, top-shelf. Nothing junky about that - all skill and a ton of poise to pull that off. Kane and his (frank)ing backhander. What a fun killer. |

I definitely meant the bounce after the MNWild had out-everything'd them for most of the game. That Toews goal in game. Was junky too but he worked his ass off to get the opportunity so I am not trying to take away from it just saying the ULTRA SKILLED WORLD CLASS SNIPERS/SCORERS ended our season on a couple junky goals.
Kane has best hands in the world! |

I'll say this again......
Bad bounce? Yes. However, that happens multiple times every single game.
The Wild defenseman (Cooke) played Kane horribly
Bryz could have made a key save
Kane still needed to pot the puck
Much more happened on that goal than just "luck". |

Crawford was.
The differentiator was the Hawks elite players played big and the Wild's did not. That's why the Wild lost. It had nothing to do with one team outplaying our outworking another.
Congrats to the Wild on a very good season. |

We agree there.
Our kids pushed hard to steal the series. Disappoint lack of output from our Big $$$ forwards in this series.
Blackhawks just know how to win. They gave the Wild a chance to steal this series. |

All this talk about the future is bright for Minnesota is all a big bunch of BS. They are lucky they got matched up against Colorado in the first round. Yeah this team is hard working and won two games against the hawks. However if they would have met the Blues in the first round like it should have been Yeo would have been fired after another first round exit and all this optimism would be nothing but doubt and speculation whether the the Ryan Suter/Parise Tandem is really worth the 10mil each. For all the wild fans that female dog and moan about how colorado was lucky the whole series or how Chicago was lucky to win the series Minnesota was lucky they played a team they could beat in the first round thus justifying any questions that might have been had they met St Louis and lost like they would have. Cheers Minny |

Minnesota deserved to win that series against Colorado and it should have been in 6 games.

Wild had a good season, I'd disagree with the other Avs fan too. I think you guys have a solid core, you should be competitive for awhile. |

Tony, the homerism in your tone makes it a bit hard to swallow for non-Wild fans. But I don't blame you. The Wild was much harder to bring down than I had expected and they played out of their minds with the speed but somehow at the same time I don't think the Hawks ever got a whiff of the open ice they love. So having a taste of the glory snuffed out I would have the same tone. Everyone's been super classy unlike those orca fans to our far left...
Wild have a bright future... But the Central's going to be a beast again next year.

The problem is there are several teams in the West with a good core. Good results in one season entitle no team to success in the following season. The Wild have shown some promise here. Now we'll have to see if they can sustain their progress. I think the total dejection the players and Yeo showed in the aftermath of the loss is an encouraging sign. These guys sound like the loss is going to be a big motivator for them. |

Game 6, absolutely and Keith was not very good either.
Overall they were ok. Oduya is regressing though... |

Anyone who says the Wild are not "in it" within the conference is fooling themselves. There are a few parallels to the Wild now and where the 'Hawks were between the end of the 07/08 season and into 08/09.
The 'Hawks finished in '08 strong, out of the playoffs but a lot could be gleaned from Keith, Seabrook, Sharp and rookies Toews and Kane. Their 08/09 breakout year ended in a WCF loss to the Wings. We all know what happened in '10.
The Wild have a lot of pieces in place. Another year or two seasoning for their rookies will make a huge difference going forward. They're at the point now of roster tinkering and not nearly as much in need of a blockbuster deal.
The Wild will be in the conference discussion of teams to beat in 14/15. |

I totally agree but just like the avs and stars the wild will merely be in the discussion and not actually contending for the cup. They have aging veterans some over paid some not producing as much as their salary demands. I think they can be a contender if they realize that Koivu is no longer a number 1 or number 2 center and address that soon or just let coyle take over. They also need a legit goal scorer other than granlund and maybe nino they got squat. |

I don't think any of those teams can make the "jump" as quick as the 'Hawks did from '08 to '10. Many, many things went right for the 'Hawks all at the same time. At the same time, all those teams have arrows pointing upwards. Each one now has to take the next steps. The Blues will continue to be good, as will LA, ANA and the 'Hawks. DAL, COL and MIN have a challenge and the one that makes the best moves will be right up there with the others. Playoffs are a crap-shoot. Great RS record doesn't often mean squat. Ask the 2011 Nux and 2014 B's. |

I love watching the Wild play! Never started to pay attention until Clutterbuck came along, sad to see him gone, but this team has a lot of upside too it! It's exciting when Granlund steps onto the ice, his line had a lot going, and the wheels on Haula! They got robbed game 6 and it hurt to see them lose but next year should be even better!! |
