i love hossa. always one of the most talented, respectable guys. would have loved him long term, but that signing would have been such a big one where you never know what the team wouldve looked liked after, for better or worse. |

they would be foolish beyond words to move paul martin. his value to the team far surpasses what theyd get. he is a very well rounded defenseman that fits their needs perfectly, but i dont think he brings in a huge haul. hes not flashy, only one more year left on his deal, and not exactly young. they need to keep him for sure.
neal, i wouldnt look to force out the door, but i would definitely be interested should the right deal come around. he has a lot of pros, he is young, good with malkin, and not many 40 goal guys are locked up for 5 mil a year. but he is one dimensional and a (frank)ing idiot.
and letang? sure. simmonds is coming back though. kthx haha |

martin makes no sense whatsoever.
letang, depending on the deal. id definitely listen. lots of pros and cons on that one too, but enough intrigue that the right deal would tempt me.
scuderi, like i said, id move a mid to low pick with him just to be rid of him, but i cant see that happening. |

Martin is the only stabilizing force on the back end for you guys. Losing him would be worse than losing letang in the short term |

im a scumbag pens fan. you shouldnt expect anything else.
now, your poison sir? - stayinthefnnet
If I must:
Ghostisbehere - He's just so damn dynamic. He reminds me of a smaller Erik Karlsson, and with a year or so in the AHL to work on his defensive game, could be very Kimmo Timonen like, possibly a little more skating/offense but without the fantastic defense Kimmo still brings. Tremendous upside
Pouliot - Of the 3, the most likely to ever win a Norris. Very well rounded. Good size and can use it, great offensive instincts, and A-rate defense. I'm thinking a future Duncan Keith type.
Pulock - Probably the surest bet of the 3 with regards to his spot. He's a surefire Top-4 type who could potentially be a top pair guy. Top unit PP point man with that booming shot. Again, more well rounded than Ghost, but more of your traditional offensive defenseman who stays at home and excels at the point as opposed to the flash that Ghostisbehere will bring.
If I was starting a team from scratch, I'd go Pouliot/Ghost/Pulock. Given what the Flyers need most (and, selfishly, the player I'm most excited to see due to his gamebreaking ability) I'm switching them.
Now one for you:
Mid-90s-era mullet Jagr, late 90's/early00's Lemieux, or current day Crosby |

Read, Rosehill, and Rinaldo. And a 4th.
--- or ---
Read, Coburn, B Schenn

The rights to Steve Downie (drafted before Letang and therefore better than him). |

I would not pay him a cent more than Couturier, personally. Couturier plays tougher minutes against other teams' top lines, kills penalties and still is a double-digit scorer. Schenn's 20 goals were his entire value. - bmeltzer
$1.75m is an unrealistic number for BSChenn. Couturier signed his contract after a difficult season for him. If he had waited till after he scored 39 points this season he would have got quite a bit more. |

yeah i agree. you never know how much he wants to stay in Philly, but 1.75 is low to me. thats a number id look to get a guy like kulemin on, who should get you like 12 goals.
schenn is a guy with a floor of 20, with the potential to take that next step forward. if hes getting 3 years, id look for at least 8M total if i were him |

If Homer was still here, I could almost guarantee than Schenn would have landed in Read/Simmer/Voracek territory easy... but now I honestly have no clue. Hexy doesn't sound like he's in a hurry to get it done... hopefully that means he's willing to wait the Schenn camp out. |

I really think he could. Just like Keith, he put up good numbers on a good WHL team in his last junior year (WHL probably the most NHL-ready of the 3 junior leagues). Similar in size. Tremendous players at both ends of the ice. Looks like a good potential "A" character guy. |
