So....there are more than 10 teams with a deeper prospect pool than Calgary? Let's hear it smart guy, I read your blog so I know you can articulate your point in other ways than emoticons. |

Edit:
lol noticed that after I posted, still want to hear your opinion on their prospects. I'm not here to berate you, just want to know why you think so. Also, thanks for reading my blog lol. Surprised anyone bothered to lol |

You're the one saying it's top 3, I believe that puts the burden of proof on you. Tell me why you think their prospects put them in that spot. - Horseguts
I said top 3rd. as in top 33.3333333% ! 10 TEAMS. Try and keep up. |

Does Edmonton have any good prospects coming up? They have really good young players on there team now but I don't know where they are at at the A and in Jr.
Edit:
Other than Nurse and Klefbom.
I actually want both teams to start winning. The oilers losing was fun for the first three years. Now I just feel bad and want them to do better. |

Aside from Nurse? Hard to say. Plenty of wingers/centers with size in Junior and Russia. |

Yeah, I believe the Oilers will a top team in 5 years. They have a ways to go though...at least 2 if not 3 seasons before they get to the playoff's even.
Like it or not, you guys are not as close to the cup as we are. You could quickly patch things up and get to the Dallas Stars level pretty quick and be in the playoffs as a bubble team faster , but that's not what you really want is it? - Jeropotato
Really? Patchwork bubble team? Our core Benn Seguin Chaisson Nichushkin Eakin Dillon Nemeth, with Benn being the oldest at 24. Our prospect pool is arguably top 3. Oleksiak Campbell Bystrom Klingberg Ritchie Faksa Mckenzie sceviour Shore Cannauton and Richardinson. Sprinkle in the vets we have, and I don't see how you wouldn't want to rebuild like us. |

Feaster over saw a scout team that drafted.....
2011: Baertschi, Granlund, Wotherspoon, Gaudreau
2012: Seiloff and Gillies. Jankowski could be added to that list in a year or two.
2013: Monahan, Porier and Klimchuk
That's very close to top notch scouting. - tomburton99
I'm a bit of a Feaster hater myself but even I'll admit he was decent or better at the draft. The things he did poorly were holding on too long to rebuild and a few clerical errors. I was always thinking he would forget to dot an I and it would cost us. |

Umm I do not think thats true at all. I know this all a couple guys opinion but this website had them ranked as 28th when Feaster Started. Now the flames are at 6. I think that is looking pretty good.

Anaheim, Detroit, and Chicago are all in the top 4. Life just isn't fair. |

Sadly, that is fairly accurate.
I'm not entirely sold on the 2012 draft, yet - other than Gillies. I hope Sieloff can stay healthy next year, and we also see progression from one of Kulak and Culkin. |

Ugh not fair at all. However the hawks might start getting in cap trouble as they need to resign both Kane and Toews. They are both going to be around $9-10 mil per season. |

Which is when a strong prospect base will help. They can replace slightly more expensive bottom 6r's and maybe even a couple top 6 and some D. |

I think next year is the real test to see what we have with them. They both progressed nicely in their last year of junior, I'm interested to see what they do in the A next season. I have more hope for Kulak than Culkin, I could see him becoming similar to Brodie. |

Besides calling our prospect pool garbage?
If you wanna throw poop at Feaster, fine, he wasn't a perfect GM by any stretch of the imagination. But don't try to insult the one thing he actually did very well at. Our current prospect pool, which doesn't even include Monahan, our crown jewel thus far, has been consistently rated in the top ten of the league. Hell, even TSN, who don't know their ass from a hole in the ground when it comes to the west, realize that we have some real potential coming up in our system. |

I meant bubble team as in not a lock for the playoff's by any wide margin. The Flames could probably put together a team that is as good as yours currently, in a few years (in the standings) but not really be a threat to win the cup. No disrespect intended. |

Ill definitely agree, on Kulak. Before last season, hockeyfutures said he ..."plays a consistent defensive game with excellent positioning and puck responsibility. The 20-year-old has solid shut down skills, and he is quietly working on his offensive side of his game..."
I know he wasnt drafted to be a shut down dman, but hearing that he has those skills does add expectations. 60pts in 69 games last year too!
I basically just want them to stick with Adriondack, next year, and not have to play in alaska. To me, that would be a good start. |

I feel so bad for Tavares. He is trying to be so loyal to the worst run organization in sports. They need to sell that team. Clear house. Reno the Barclays center so every seat looks at the rink and call it a day. Build that team around one of the best players in the world. |

Ya we already went through that for long enough ...most fans are in it for the long haul.
Also, I really like Dallas right now, a few more upgrades/development and that team could be considered a serious contender. |

I am so glad that I am not a little bit older, or I could have easily become an Islanders fan. So many good Sasky boys on that team during the dynasty years. JT is one of my favourite players, I hope the Islanders get their poop together eventually for his sake. |
