It'll be interesting and I am going to try to be patient. He's got a good team now, but it's got flaws. Hard to fix flaws. - Jsaquella
Nah! Hard to fix flaws? Adding a # 1 dman, and top 6 forward with limited cap space. Piece of cake. |

They are completely unwatchable. The Mets have beaten them from pillar to post the last few season. The (frank)ing Mets who are the punchlines of baseball. - PLindbergh31
At least in the late 1980's and 1990's-outside of 1993-we had Harry and Whitey.
Now we have ManBoobs McCarthy |

Ok so if Regis gets the GM position in the Steel City that means he WON'T do games on NBC Sports, right?

Just curious, what is the value of Torey Krug in the restricted free agent market? Very good offensive numbers, Bruins have a lot of guys signed and still supposedly want Iginla back. I have to think he would want a decent raise. - ravishingone
That would be (frank)ing awesome. |

The big one is the defenseman. They need a better LW, but it's not a fatal flaw. |

They had a good 5 year run. They got the World Series which is great. The backside of these runs are often ugly with a lot of successful teams. They need to be torn down and built back up. |

Is he John Carlson worthy? Multi-year deal with a cap hit of $4 million/yr. If I'm Boston, I would be very concerned about the Wings (hopefully Flyers also). |

That farm system is brutal, this rebuild is going to take at least 5 years, and that's if they fire RAJ at the end of the season.

Yep. It's a long process getting back to respectability. Amaro has to be gone at seasons end. |

I just don't want Amaro making the decisions during the fire sale |

I'd like to see Couturier, Read, and Voracek. Get a decent LW with some speed to play with Giroux, and put Simmonds on the RW. Play Hartnell with Schenn, and maybe Raffl. - MJL
I like it. I also think that would help Cots grow a little quicker offensively. |

Finally checked out Cullen's roster on TSN; just don't think Schenn's coming in at $1.5 and I'd rather not have Kimmo at $5.
I just wouldn't be afraid to let Kimmo walk and see if Alt can hack it -- at some point, we gotta pop one of the kids in there and just run with it |

I don't mind that we traded them because what we got back were some really good pieces. But what ticks me off is that everybody seems to be blaming Richards and Carter for are failure to win a cup? I think some fans and media overestimated their ability thinking they should put up 80pts+ a season. Thats not who they are they are your typical 60 point players that would've good pretty good down the middle with Giroux, Carter and Richards. I think the main reason why we didn't win a cup was because of 2 things. Lack of an above average goaltender and the lost of are #1 Defensemen along with a weak core of D men already. |

What about Vinny? Guy has been doing it for a long time in this league. Hes proven. Not in the top 6? |

I like the idea of Kimmo coming back as long as he is replacing L. Schenn or Grossmann in the top 6. I would like to have him mentor one of the rookies this season.

If he's on the team, then they have to play him at Center on a scoring line in my opinion. But I'm expecting the Flyers to at least attempt to trade him.

I'd rather re-sign Timonen and move Grossmann, better slow and skilled than slow and unskilled |

Agreed. If Pronger doesn't get hurt, the Flyers are in much better shape right now.
Both are good players, and Carter would be deadly with Giroux, but they were good trades. Pronger getting hurt meant they lost Sbisa, Lupul & two first rounders for a minimal return, which helped leave the system barren, plus the trades afterward to try and fill the hole led to more lost picks.

They have looked like the bad news bears against the Mets this series. They totally blew the last few games throwing so many opportunities away. Yet I keep watching. God help me. |

I would, but that guy Dave Montgomery isn't so quick to pull the trigger. If the fans keep hitting him in the pocket book with lost gate revenue, then hopefully something will be done. I can't wait to see the attendance for the mid August series against Seattle. Over/under for all three games I would put at 34,000.

I wouldn't be horribly opposed to that, as long as its Grossmann -- I realize that at some point, Luke Schenn is what he is and that might not be enough, but holy hell, they'd better be damn sure that they don't bail on him too soon |

I'd wait to move Schenn, unless it's a deal that's too good to pass up. |

Hextall goes into my GM Hall of Fame if he can hit July 15 with Grossmann and Vinny off the roster, but I just don't think that both can be moved
Maybe one, but both would be some seriously heavy lifting |
