He's going to want a lot of money and years. Any 3-4 million options that might work? |

He thinks the game well enough, but that number is gonna get up there pretty quick, i think
I'd ask, though -- he could be an interesting guy |

And your point is? They helped the team win. Who cares about memorable if the team lost? - Jsaquella
So I bring up how I feel about two players of topic but who cares? This isn't allowed? |

Literally first name popped out of my head. Mason Raymond, although I'm not sold he can be a 1st line winger for a whole season.

Raymond a faster skater than Schenn? |

Sure it's allowed. I just disagree.
JJ Daigneault created a more memorable moment than Brad McCrimmon by scoring the game winner in game six of the 1987 Final. But only a moron would take JJ over McCrimmon.
Big moments are great and all. But I'd rather a good player that helps the team win consistently. |

Yeah. But he tends to wear down over a full season. |

I care about winning, and Richards and Carter did as much to help the Flyers win during their time here as anyone else on the roster. - Jsaquella
I'm not in the least calling Jeff Carter or Mike Richards bad players but neither struck me as exciting to watch or as memorable as other players of the past. Simple as that. Who cares? Well I do, this is my post... |

Nope. I'm saying I don't care about memorable plays. I'd rather have guys that go out and do the job. You were saying originally that Carter and Richards shouldn't have been the faces of the team because you couldn't recall many memorable plays they had made.
I think that's really illogical. That's all. You dismiss what they did because it wasn't memorable to you. I remember a lot of things they did. Anyhow, now I'm done, because honestly I don't care to have this conversation because it will go nowhere |

I didn't dismiss anything.
Who was more exciting to watch, Lindros and LeClair or Carter and Richards? |

Yeah, if the route they take is a cheaper one, it may have to be a guy like Raymond. I'd like a guy like Jokinen, if they could trade Vinny and sign Jussi for similar cash. There's a couple of guys who were primarily RWs like Nik Kulemin or even Lee Stempniak who could be decent additions at the right price, and maybe shift a guy like Read to LW |

Doubt he'd take a haircut, so it'd have to be significant. Wow, he made $6mm last year...maybe he'd take $5mm if they gave him a longer term.
I didn;t realize he made $6mm last year |

Yeah -- that was one reason they couldn't move him; only so many teams could eat the salary.
I struggle with him because i honestly don't know what i would offer

Yeah, it's hard seeing that sticker price. At age 31, I'd hate to go more than 4 years, but the only way he takes less is if there's no demand or if you add years to the deal |

Mike Cammalleri - Jsaquella
It's doable at $6 million with a series of conditions, like being able to trade VL with no $$ retention, signing Kimmo for $3 or less and some roster juggling to start the season. Lines could be
Cammalleri-G-Simmonds
Read-Couts-Voracek
Hartnell-Raffl-Schenn
Hall-Moore-Rinaldo
or something like it. |

Honestly, Jussi Jokinen would be my first choice. Good player, can score, plays solid two way hockey, bonus is his shootout prowess, any situation, good skater and can play C if needed. |

I would rather take Pouliot at around $3 million/yr. I'm interested to see if Hexy can dig into the bargain bin and pull out a nice return on investment as opposed to outbidding other teams for guys who probably have seen their best years behind them. |

Pouliot would be a good fall back from Jokinen. I'd really like Jokinen, especially if they can get him for $4.25-$4.5mm or so |
