He's been adequate. I just think they're even better (skill-wise) with Teuvo on the 2nd line and Shaw on the 3rd. - bradleyc4
Total agreement there. Shaw would be an elite third-liner.

What do you think the "ask" is going to be for them? Giroux money? Crosby money? Malkin/Ovechkin?

$7-8M x 8 each... I think they want to stay together. They deserve a whole lot more. |

No team has ever played 3 seven game series and then won the cup.
LA could make history this year.
They beat three really good teams to get to this point also.
I miss JWill, Richie, and even Carter.
But I think the Flyers did fine with the frick and frack trades. - Marc D
they already made history winning three road game 7s... keep going, tubby and wides! |

I think they'd really like to move Bickell. Perhaps they package Bickell and Sharp together for a first round pick and a guy with 1 year remaining on his deal. - PhillySportsGuy
I agree, and you could probably move Bickell because all it takes is one team to like his size, but man...$4 million is a ton for 11 goals and 15 points. That's a contract that would be tough to swallow, if I was looking to acquire a LW.

Both of them are worth 9 mil each minimal. I get the feeling they won't hold the hawks to the fire that much and sign friendly deals |

He's a Finn. He could probably play goal if they asked him nicely. |

Woof. Would you go the full eight, then, if you were giving the $9?

If they get them for $7.5 times 8...that's a steal, because they really could win a few more Cups with a few smart moves here and there. |

Starting next season, Malkin will make $9.5M. Someone will be willing to pay Kane or Toews at leas $9M. It's rare that a top 5 center and top 5 winger become available on the market. Buffalo will have a ton of money and a young team in need of scorers. Kane is from Buffalo. I could see them making a huge play for him. |

It does become monotonous rooting against teams every year. I'm going to just try and enjoy the games and not waste energy rooting against people. It's kind of a waste of energy. It doesn't change the outcome anyway. - PLindbergh31

That depends on Teuvo. Shaw is an emerging player. He was better then adeqaute. That line exploded when Shaw was moved up there. |

Long-term, I don't think Shaw is a top-6 forward. We'll see. Certainly opened some eyes this season and postseason. |

The best part for the Hawks is that, they have depth to make moves. They can use a Handzus as a 2nd center, because the wingers are so good. Shaw, Saad, Teravinen give them so many options.
That's why I get bugged when they draft a Ghoulbourne in the 3rd round, when guys like Lodge & Bjorkstrand are on the board. |

What is that based on. Other then pedigree, there's not much difference between Shaw and B Schenn. Chicago would be foolish to move a defenseman such as Oduya, when they already have a player in Shaw who they can plug into the 2nd line. |
