Yeah, Vinny might nudge them a percentage point or two upward, but they could achieve the same by bringing in a decent winger or two and not have to sacrifice ES/defensive play and minutes for the kids like they would w/ Vinny.
Edit: There's little chance their team 7% shooting is repeated... league average is 11-12% on the PP. - Tomahawk
The problem is that I think that most NHL GM's are smart enough to recognize that the injury and how he was used, were big factors in his Season. And unless there is an issue with his back becoming chronic, that there's a good chance if used correctly in the right situation, he can get back to being a very good offensive player. And every team of young players needs some veterans on it. |

Yeah. I wouldn't take VL if I was any team. I'm just trying to rationalize what another team might do. Florida needs a lot of help on their special teams. Just take a look at how bad their special teams were. - PhillySportsGuy
I think Florida would want Vinny to help their team and sell pickets but why would Vinny want to go there if he has little chance of winning?
We throw around ideas like Nashville. I understand Laviolette is there now but Nashville is still not a very good team. I think Nashville would want Vinny but why would Vinny want to go there?
Then there are spots I do think Vinny would consider going but the Rangers don't need him (Richards and St Louis).
Montreal is gonna need to resign Subban to a pretty big pay date and were hesitant to do so before (His home town).
Hawks and Kings are winners without adding Vinny, so no I don't think these top teams would want him.
Toronto might be interested but Lecavalier doesn't add much defense, especially to a top line that features Kessel, van Reimsdyk and Lecavalier.
Maybe Ottawa but I don't see how he properly replaces Spezza if Vinny cannot play at a top center's role anymore.
if Vincent Lecavalier is really limited. Wouldn't he have limited options? |

If he's given the option of playing on the 4th line here or playing top 6 minutes somewhere else, he'll take a good long look at the destination. |

If they trade Spezza this summer, that's the only team where I see a fit for him and for the market/team. |

Here here.
Last time the hosting team picked in the top-3 was 1990 in Vancouver, when they took Nedved #2, and it was their own pick.
The "splash" scenario is recited each and every draft by the home fan base, as if it's common sense or a forgone conclusion or something... yet it hasn't happened once in the last 25-years. - Tomahawk
Well, NJ did make a "splash" last year in acquiring Luongo, I mean, Schneider, I mean, Lack...whoever Vancouver's backup of the week was. |

They can use it as leverage. I don't think they want to go into next season with him on the roster though. |

Spezza was a playmaker. Lecavalier is a shooting center. He needs to play with a playmaking Winger. |

Looking forward to the draft.
I'm sure this is late, but...
There is no chance that either Sam Bennett (despite his inability to perform a pullup at the Scouting Combine)
WTF? Not even 1? That's seriously weak. |

If it's the best option for the team, and not for one specific 34-year-old player, then yes, they will.
EDIT: I believe they could/should. I am not in the front office/part of the coaching staff, so I can't say will. |

If I'm Lecavalier, I'm thinking that's irrelevant. Because I'm going to come to camp healthy, and return to being the player I was before the injury. And they'll have no choice but to play me on a higher line. He would know that's a bluff. |

If anyone on here is going to the draft and Regis McGuirre is hired as Pens GM you need to take some great signs. I want to see them on TV. |

I think it's interesting that nobody keeps an open mind of role change because they do all the time or the idea of a bounce back season. |

I don't see paying a player 4.5M to center the 4th line as a good option. If Lecavalier is on the team next season, then they need to do what is neccessary to get the most out of him. |

So if the Flyers say "We're heading to camp with Giroux, Couturier and Schenn as our 3 centers. We don't want to move Schenn from center no matter what because we feel that's his best position" what will he say? |
