Supposedly he wasnt the only one either. I know from seeing it growing up in sports.. The pull-up made a disappearing act for a bit. Its back now. - jak521

I feel stupid but I can't get past this McGuirre being a possible canidate for the Pens GM job. I just think it would create all kinds of jokes. |

Yea, who thought that would be a good idea? - jak521
Maybe they can round up all the hookers on the Ave and Tioga Park and have them sweep the broken bottles and drug debris from the rink surface before they get there hahahaha |

Just because there really was no debating what the poster was speaking about. It was clearly posted that he was talking about the "splash" being the home team trading to move up into the top 3 picks. Not about moving a player or adding a player. Strictly about moving into the top 3 picks. It wasnt isnt subjective at all.
I found that funny. - jak521
Well we saw it differently. What a splash is, is subjective. So if the Flyers traded up to the 5th spot in the draft, that would not be making a splash? |

Especially odd considering that there are SkateZones strewn throughout the Delaware Valley and Ice Works in Aston.
Must be some sort of charity photo op? - johndewar
Ed Snider foundation plays there. They don't let those kids play in SkateZones that I know of. |

Not even MJL thinks he can play wing. That should tell you all you need to know. - PhillySportsGuy
Let's clarify that. I think his best position is Center. I think he could play RW with the right player. But LW is not an option. He can't play that side. |

Is that one of the rinks they enclosed last year? That was always an outdoor rink. Don't see how they're pulling that off in late June. - mayorofangrytown
I think they did, i havent been by there in a few years.
Growing up, we would climb the fence in the middle of the night, bring floodlights and play. the cops would never bother us because we always took care of the facility....I cant say what goes on there now. |

Let me make my point clear, so we can move on from the VL topic.
I would rather buy VL out than have him come back to the Flyers. Even if that means eating $2M/year for the next 8 seasons. It would suck and I would much rather look to trade him and eat salary, but that's what I would do if I had to. - PhillySportsGuy
I'm all for moving Lecavalier if they can. But I would not buy him out. If they can't deal him this year. And he has a decent year, his deal is more freindly after this year. And he could be tradeable after this upcoming season. |

I'm not sure I'd even bother with re-signing Timonen at that point, I could see just going with:
Coburn-Phaneuf
Amac-Schenn
Streit-Alt or Lauridsen - BiggE
i'd do this, yes yes yes |

And this is why I said LOL.
The poster CLEARLY indicated that the "splash" he was referring to was moving up to the top 3 spots.
You can pick and pull and try debate nuanced terms... but he was pretty clear.
EDIT:
I dont know why I am even giving you the satisfaction of an arguement, but... The poster mentioned a SPECIFIC type of splash.
Some may think that trading a 4th round pick this year and next year for a 3rd round pick this year is a splash. He was pretty specific in his specific "splash". You just needed to pick at it. |

I would disagree with that. What a splash is, is subjective. And as I clearly pointed out, if the Flyers traded up to the 5th spot, that would be considered a splash in my view. As would most people.
I think there is only one person "picking at it" at this point. I have a valid point. |

For (frank)s sake.. he was just saying that, in his example, no team hosting the Draft over the past 25 years has drafted in the top three. No teams have made that kind of splash either. Plain and simple... no team has made a "move into the top 3 of the draft to get the 1st 2nd or 3rd pick" SPLASH. (frank).
EDIT: DONE.. have fun. |

What a splash is, is subjective. When NJ traded their first round pick for Schnieder, there was a buzz in the crowd, and a lot of people were suprised at that. I consider that a splash.
And all I'm saying is that other moves can be considered a splash. |

Are we comparing penis sizes to what is considered a splash of water and what is not?
Hopefully it doesn't end with someone getting a splash of semen across their face. |
