It happened. And the puck happened to end up in the back on the net behind Lundqvist. I guess in the grand scheme of things not a big deal since the Rangers will win the next 4 games. - PLindbergh31
they won't. they haven't faced a team like LA yet. |

Kings in 5 was my pick from the start, don't see any reason to change it now. |

btw, my team won our spring A league last night. just like i said we would. close through the first half, and then we blew them out.
and i had a beer and then went on my merry way.
the other goalie is literally captain leg pads. i wasn't losing to clp. - hammarby31

I'll give the Rangers this, they're a better team than many have given them credit for this postseason. Still, they shouldn't have any business beating LA. |

It was closer than I would have liked. The Kings thoroughly outplayed them, but the Rangers had some really good chances. I think they had 4 odd man rushes on the PK.
It's nice to see the Rangers finally playing a great goalie. They won't be bailed out by sub-par goaltending. |

are they good? sure? they forecheck and attack defensively as five man unit, work hard, clutch and moving pick their way through a game, and have a top goalie. that will win a lot of games.
they don't have any business beating la. agree. |

mason was excellent, overall, against ny. it's too bad he didn't get a full slate. and tokarski isn't price. this infuriates me. |

Probably true. If there is a way to make Rick Nash better, they'd be even scarier.

The Eastern Conference just isn't in the same league as the West right now.
I don't think the Rangers could beat any of the Final 4 teams out of the West in a 7-game series.

Yeah. If Mason is healthy, it could have been a different series.
I thought Fleury and Tokarski were pretty good, but they obviously aren't elite like Quick. |

I don't think the Flyers goaltending was subpar against the Rags outside of game 3, and the kid for Montreal played pretty well. MAF had back to back shutouts in that series. I think the Rags advanced through the Eastern Conf due to smothering the oppositions chances. The Flyers didn't get a sniff in the 4 games they lost, and Montreal in game 6 played in their zone the entire game. Just my opinion. |

If Kevin hayes doesn't sign before Aug 15 does he become a FA? Just curious. I want Flyers looking at all available options to get better. |

I think they'd have a shot against Anaheim and Minnesota. They'd really struggle against San Jose, Chicago and LA.
People forget about San Jose, but they were a really good team. They just got stuck in a bad matchup with a great team. |

San Jose is an excellent team, agreed. They just didn't finish the Kings when they had the chance. |

I agree with you. Other than Mason though, they didn't face a goalie who was capable of stealing a series imo. They faced decent goaltending, but no one close to Quick. |

They are. Their forecheck and counterattack speed is superior to LA's. Still, a lot of those early turnovers were unforced, boneheaded plays by LA (i.e. cross-ice pass right in front of your goalie) and NYR were just in opportune positions. Glad Quick bailed them out or it could have been 3-0 or 4-0 early. Once LA got settled, they had the better play by a lot. |

Yes it did, but you are implying it was a mental mistake when in fact it was a physical mistake.

No question. They haven't faced a goaltender of Quick's ability. I think this is the first series where the Rangers can play their A game, and still lose. |

I don't think they beat a healthy Anaheim team. I was kind of surprised that LA did, to be honest. They're basically mirrors of each other. San Jose would get up 3-0 in the SCF, be up 6-0 in Games 4-7 and blow it all. That's just what San Jose does. |

I agree it was a physical mistake. It does happen. Looked like the puck took a bad bounce. My issue was, you would like your first pairing dman to still make the play there. It's certainly not impossible to corral a bouncing puck. |

It's not impossible, but when the puck is bouncing and you've got a forward forechecking, you don't always have the time to corral it while keeping it in an opportune position (i.e. corral it and be able to not immediately turn it over). It happens. Just happened at a very bad time/position for NYR. The same thing would have happened if it was Pronger/Weber/Doughty/Lidstrom/etc. Just how it goes. |
