Heres another question: If you could trade giroux for any NHL player that has ever played, who would you do it for? - PhillaBully
Bobby Orr. It's not really that close. |

Think having more of a playmaker/passer on his LW should unlock some of that (AKESON).
This is my first time hearing about any reluctance to pass, though... he turned Gabe Dumont and Ondrej Palat into 50 and 40 goal-scorers respectively... had to be doing something right. - Tomahawk
Yeah, I never thought that. That was on a couple of the scouting reports I read about him a few years back. I wouldn't mind seeing Akeson get that shot on his line, but if the flyers unload on some cap space I would much rather that guy by Benoit Pouliot.
Although he may never break 50 points if he doesn't stop getting these ridiculous assignments. No matter who he plays with. |

Pouliot's a bit more of a shoot-first guy himself... the only guys in the UFA pool who fit the bill wouild be Hemsky and Whitney... Hemsy's too $ and Whitney is 42... that's why I'm more of a proponent of sticking w/ Akeson and/or looking into the trade route. |

Does anyone read or watch the AHL playoffs? TJ Brennan will be a UFA this summer. Would anyone be interested in seeing what he could do? Could be an interesting low risk option. He had a good showing with the Marlies. |

Assuming they don't explore free agency or a trade to upgrade that LW, would you be OK with a third line of Raffl - Coots - Akeson? I don't think they'd light the world on fire offensively but they might have a different dynamic with Akeson on the wing.
I'd like to see how Read would do on the top line with Giroux and Voracek. He played well there for stretches in the lockout shortened season. Then move Hartnell down with Schenn and Simmonds. Of course, all this assuming Vinny is traded or starting the season on the 4th line, which I don't really see happening. |

I just want couts to have that scorers confidence back that he had in juniors. I would love to see him rip a shot in from the high slot or the circle with a lethal release. Couts never seems to rip a shot as hard as he can at the net. |
