How would you know if you liked it, if you didn't read it? Wouldn't you need to read it first before making up your mind on whether you liked it or not?
But yeeeah, well said... - Iamnumber27
It's for future reference . I wouldn't expect you to understand such a complicated concept , though. So I'll explain , if you don't like the blog , stop reading it when you decide u don't like it , don't finish it . And don't read muchaels blogs again , I'm sure he won't lose any sleep . (frank). It's the Internet , it's a blog , I'll write a blog about poopting in the ocean on " my hockey buzz" right now if I want . And no one is going to stop it ... It's the (frank)ing Internet my man. |

Wow, a fan of a traditional market now following the ins-and-outs of another franchise and acting as though you're an authority (and you clearly haven't watched the Marty saga unfold over the last year, as your comments dictate).
Nope! Never seem that before!
It's just us dumb Tampa fans who don't understand hockey. I'm glad we have the benevolent Rangers faithful to tell us how to feel about one of our former stars who screwed the team, the fanbase and hamstrung us right in the middle of a playoff run.
Sure glad you're here to set us straight! - OzBolts
This blog is about a Rangers player and comments made while he was a Rangers player. Tampa Bay fans are pretty much getting the same feedback from Rangers fans as they are from fans of teams in completely different conferences. He's not talking about you, it's time to get over him. |

I think that's a rather simplistic way of looking at things. He's not just 'a Rangers player' to Tampa fans. |

Exactly... maybe you need to post the internet rulebook too.

I know that Bolt fans are a bit miffed at him going. So seeing him have any level of success stinks... I get it... Patrick Roy had a ton of success after demanding his way out of MTL.
Problem is... you have to expect him to talk up his new team. He's not going to sit back and say. "Yup. I would've been here with the Bolts too probably." For many reasons... but mainly because it makes it sound like HE is the reason they are there.
He is going to praise everything about the team. It will only sound 'off' if you are a TB fan.
Looking back to when Roy left MTL... I couldn't stand to watch him play for the AVS, seeing him win a cup. THAT HURT. Hopefully that is not the case for you this year with MSL. - mlindsay
Didn't Roy have reason to demand his way out?

Yeah that's what I figured. A childhood friend of mine is a RCMP and last i heard he was in Moncton... Been trying to get a hold of him but no answer... understandably... Hopefully they get that guy soon. - TBolts4
Yes hopefully they do but this guy is just a 24 year old redneck and they can't catch him |

The key part of that being "to Tampa fans." Tampa fans might feel a certain way, but that doesn't make those feelings his responsibility. His loyalties don't lie with Tampa Bay, and there is no reason they should right now.

That's where you're wrong. Comments about the Rangers and their city, by a Rangers player, have far more to do with the Rangers & their fans, than they have to do with Tampa. |

He spent a lot of time in Tampa. Tampa made him who he is and gave him the chance when others wouldnt. To Tampa fans hes not just another Rangers player like Stepan or Girardi hes important to them. And his comments about this being his dream and never having this oppertunity show he didn't think Tampa could win and he was not satisfied with the city fans or franchise. Just becausehe doesnt name them directly doesnt mean he isnt talking about them whe he says this is a dream he couldnt live before who else do you think hes talking about? Its not about him leaving ge made that choice thats fine it happens. Its how it he handled himself and destroyed the locker room on his way out. His comments are more than they need to be and it does hurt the fan base who supported him for so long when he says it wasnt enough. He doesnt have to name a team to talk about them and you dont have to be crazy to read into the comments |

Rags fans, enjoy your time in the Finals. After 14 years of idolizing Marty, we have certainly earned the right to question his words.
Marty, enjoy your time in the big market you wanted. Doesn't mean I want you to win, but enjoy it nonetheless.
Tampa fans would have been alot more understanding if Marty had been honest about his decision. It's the waffling back and forth between "personal issues" and "big market" bullpoop that is making this worse. Frankly I don't give a poop simply b/c Yzerman turned a very good but ageing 38 year old forward (our deepest position) into 2 first rounders. It may have left us a bit shorthanded for this past postseason but with the current Bolts management and scouting those picks have a high probability of turning into legitimate pieces down the road. This franchise is going nowhere but up and if Marty didn't want to finish out his career in that situation, well then good riddance.

I will agree that his current comments don't point at Tampa. However, in his first statements after the trade the context was much different. Those wounds are still open so anything he says now will be made even bigger. This really comes down to transparency and honesty. If Marty had been truly open about his decision from the beginning this would be a non-story now. However, he didn't and now you are seeing the results.

It's not about not feeling the same way. It's about the expectation of him to consider your feelings when giving interviews and not talking about you. |

Kind of... he felt disrespected by being left in for 7 goals against Detroit.
Didn't Marty? He was left off team Canada by his own GM. |

There's definitely an argument to be made there, but...
1) If Marty couldn't see that Yzerman's Canada job and his TB job were different, that's his problem. Obviously Yzerman gambled that he'd be mature enough to see that. He gambled wrong, I suppose.
2) Marty's desire to leave TB for NY dates back to at least 2009. |

I love a blog written purposely to antagonize Ranger fans but people get all butt hurt when we comment. Lol - jimbro83
Or you could focus on the fact your team is in the Stanley Cup Finals. Instead you are here discussing a long-time now ex-Bolt on a Lightning blog. Hmmm
And for the record you guys can defend his words all you want. It doesn't change the fact that he handled his exit from Tampa very poorly.
I have asked this before and not once gotten a response, so here it is for you directly. Imagine if Messier had pulled this stunt, how would you feel? What would you and the rest of Ranger fans be saying? |
