He only led the Hawks in scoring, has been with the team for nearly a decade and is certainly a real Hawks fan favorite but fans like you would take Bickell over Sharp every day of the week.
Bickell and his 14 points opposed to Sharp and his 77 points.
It's funny watching Hawks fans believe Bickell is Alex Ovechkin. - Tazer19
He did squat the second half and playoffs. Squat. It's funny watching people with man crushes refuse to admit that Sharp is expendable. I'd hate for you to have to buy a new sweater, but maybe it's time anyways. |

Maybe a trade featuring Kesler and TT (and other pieces) could go down like the Nieuwendyk-Iginla trade back in the day. Hawks win another cup or two in the short term with Kesler, Vancouver has a superstar for the next decade-plus. I'd be fine with that since Toews and Kane are entering their prime now and TT could take a couple years to get really good. - hawks2010
Good point. I do think with kesler and the rest of our guys we could win a few more Cups. We have a lot of good young players. I think we can replace TT with other prospects. He could turn out to have a career like Iggy, but I doubt it. |

Hawks may not be able to stand pat this summer. Competition is fierce big names could be in play around NHL. Fox Chgo:http://bit.ly/1oDBYHR - Al

You probably should be better at reading comprehension.
For instance, I'm not sure anyone here ever said that Bickell is better than Ovechkin - or even that he's better than Sharp.
And you should probably do a better job of understanding why Sharp is mentioned in so many fantasy deals. |

Kruger will never score more than 12 goals at this level. Kruger is much easier to replace that Shaw. Kruger is 24. When the hell is he going to physically mature? |

Trading Sharp is out of the question, nor do I like the idea of trading TT.
Not to mention to acquire Kesler he would really need to be acquired at 50% of his cap hit.
Now, the notion of trading Sharp over Bickell is just lunacy.
I'm thinking Bickell, NcNeil, 1st and Rundblad for Kessler at 50% retained. However I know the Nucks will want TT involved in any trade discussion unless the Hawks are willing to pile on more, and that is something I would consider if that was the case I would throw in Versteeg and another pick - maybe a 2nd in 2015.
At any rate no team but the Hawks could throw a package at the Nucks for Kesler and not be dramatically changed.
So
Bickell
McNeil
Rundblad
2014 1st round pick
(and if need be Versteeg)
for
Kessler @50% retained.
I know everyone loves Bickell but he is nothing special, hes a coaches player that just happens to have size - not talent.
Then trade Rozy to whomever, then the Hawks have plenty of cap space to extend both Toews and Kane, not to mention get the true #2 center they coveted for so long.
Sorry, there are just some players I wouldn't trade and their presence alone makes them an asset and Patrick Sharp is one of those players. - Tazer19

Let's test this theory...
Go post that proposal in the Canucks thread, then report back on what they think. - Ogilthorpe2
I already have on HF boards and the consensus of Nucks fans was take it an run and don't look back.
Although my deal was a 3-way deal with the Flames with Hayes and Rozy going to the Flames for a 1st round pick that went to the Nucks.
So in the end the Nucks got TT, Bickell, Rundblad, Hawks 1st and Flames 2015 1st.
Hawks got Kesler at 50%
Flames got Hayes (rights, which are worth a 2nd round pick alone) and Rozy for their 1st in 2015.
Hawks get Kesler @ 2.75 and about 10 mil in cap space.
Hawks give up basically nothing but TT and Bickell.

He is 24 though...
I mean he looks like a little kid but it isn't like he is a boy either.
I agree that he can get stronger, and I'm surprised they haven't been more aggressive with him in the weight room, but if he hasn't grown or developed physically much in the last few years not sure how much more is realistic to expect.
He's listed at 180 and isn't a tree trunk like Smith. Maybe he can bulk to closer to 200 in two years but maybe that just isn't ideal for his frame.
Good player player for sure and if he can do better to avoid getting lit up like a Christmas tree I think he will have a solid career but I have no clue where his peak is physically. It isn't like he hasn't been a pro for a while and had access to great coaches both physio and nutritional wise. - fattybeef
I agree Kruger will fine tune his skills but he is pretty much what he will be in many ways.
He is as tough as nails but I doubt he will gain much more weight at this point.

No. what's funny is you think the Cansucks will retain 50% of Kedser's salary. Its downright hilarious that the a rebuilding Flames team is going trade away a 1st in 2015 and pass up a shot at 3-4 franchise type players. For Rozival and Kevin Hayes. |
