If it gets Kane to sign long term at a friendly number, Kesler should be priority number 1 - mochoson

If Bowman can move Sharp, then this Kesler thing makes sense. |

TT, Leddy, draft pick for Kesler and say Tanev.
Anyway, I heard something like that in the Spring. Shaw was mentioned. As was, i believe, Bickell. But Bickell's playoffs might have changed that. |

I think the two teams could do business.
I like TT Shaw and the first and take Travis Sanheim with the Hawks pick.
I am ok with Tanev included |

Hey Eli. How are ya?
I'm wondering if moving Sharp to make cap room for Kesler is the answer, what does it cost to keep Kesler in a Hawks uniform passed this coming season, assuming he puts up career numbers playing with 88?
How does moving Sharp and assets like TT + help the Hawks passed next season?
And how much better is Kesler than Sharp at 2C, that could be an option, instead of shipping out #10, no? |

It would work if they traded sharp. But what kind of return would he bring? It would be nice if he could land a young rostered player and a pick or prospect but I guess we couldn't afford a rostered player coming back if kesler is on the team. |
|

Could a Kane/Kesler duo end up being as much of a distraction as the Carter/Richards situation was in Philly a number of years ago? Also, does Chicago get something in writing from Kane's agent that if the Hawks get someone that Kane wants, then there's a cap on how much money he demands? |

I don't know. However, if I was the GM, I wouldn't move Teravainen or McNeill.
As for Sharp at center, that would solve a lot of problems, wouldn't it? |

I really hope we can keep shaw and include another young player. While shaw can take some dumb penalties, he is really a big part of the team, both on the ice going to the net and in the lockerrom keeping it loose. Tht is important. Jamal Mayers mentioned it on nhl tonight how important he is inside the room |

With our LACK of size, just don't see how Bicks can get moved right now. If we could pry a JVR type away in a Sharp deal? Would like to have two Bickell types on the top 2 lines or at least a big #2 C. (Kesler) One would think with 88 really wanting Kesler it could happen. If Im the Canucks, don't think I would send him to Anaheim. Division rival yes??

I liked elbows idea about sharp for Eller and tinordi. Imagine toews-Kesler-Eller down the middle but I guess if they get Kesler they wouldn't be able to bring back a roster guy like Eller? |

I would really like to see Saad get another look at C. That kid has all the tools to succeed there. |

Not a chance! I've seen enough of Kesler. His attitude is not what we need in Chicago
I'd think that given the choice to stay and move to the middle or being shipped out to make room for Kesler (of all people) Sharpie would revisit the option.
It seems to me that Stan would do the same |

McNeill's value I think has gone up since the playoffs. He is the type they need right now at forward. Unfortunately he's probably 2 years away from being really ready. |

As in Ryan Miller?
He's done. Just does not have it anymore. No CC means we get run out in round 1 against the Blues. Goaltending ain't the issue here. |

How much better is Toews than say Saad or Hossa at 1C? - John Jaeckel
JJ, I think that's a little unfair. Sharp has played in the middle and won a cup. Saad or Hossa have not. For the record I do think Kesler is a better centre than Sharp. Just don't know how much. Is he that much better that you move assets to make up the difference?
Edit: I understand that in 2010 the Hawks had Toews, Bolland and Madden in addition to Sharp down the middle. Maybe all they need to add to strengthen their centre depth is a veteran who CAN SKATE, win draws and kill penalties |
