Shove Leddy in there instead of Oduya. I'm open to moving either one... - EKolb13
Leddy has problems - he tries to do to much, he's not Keith yet but if he slows his game down a bit and learns he will get there.
He's still better than Cam Barker.

I never claimed the Hawks prospects were "bad" or lacked even talent - what I implied was that the Hawks have TOO MANY DAMN PROSPECTS and we can just keep them in the system forever because there isn't a roster spot for them.
And NO I made no comparison between Jimmy Hayes and Brandon Pirri... Who the hell would do that?
What I said was Hayes easily could have played Bickells role, given the fact he is 6 foo 6, strong and has more talent than Bickell.... I don't know where the hell you got the Pirri idea from.
Pirri was a top 6 or bust player, and given our top 6 he had no chance on the Hawks. He certainly was too small and too offensively skilled to play a bottom 6 role - which is why he was traded.
Believe it or not - some teams aren't as blessed as the Hawks with their top 6 talent and actually seek and or draft players that possess that ability. - Tazer19
A team can have too many prospects? And Hayes sucks. He had his chances here and failed miserably. He may be 6'6" but he is soft as (frank)ing butter. |

So that means you're suggesting trading two or more defensemen?
Help me out here, I'm a little confused... - EKolb13
My idea would be to move the bottom pairing that had trouble in the playoffs to a team that lacks defenseman. Obviously, for Anisimov, something else would have to be thrown in. In Kruger you move a nice asset. In Anisimov you get a C that replaces a small C. Now a fourth line centre would be needed, yes. The Hawks would be less a small forward.
You've said Dahlbeck is the closest of the Hogs D to possibly making the roster next year. If this is the case an experienced NHL dman (better than Rozy) could be paired with a rookie D
Still confused? |

The kid has mad skill, he may look frail but give him a couple of years and a nice diet and he will gain a few pounds,
Another thing about TT is the fact he has elite talent, he's like a hybrid between Kane and Malkin.
I know he was projected to be a top 10 pick and if he had a bit more weight he could have gone top 5.
He was certainly one of the most skilled in his draft class.
His offensive instincts are amazing along with his hand-eye coordination. The kid is an all around unique offensive talent.
His hockey sense is absolutely amazing to boot. This kid is going to put up some amazing numbers next year if he assigned to the AHL or if he goes back to the SEL,
If he makes the Hawks he will certainly be a .50 ppg player, if he gets ice time and decent PP minutes.
The kid will be an NHL star without question.
This is why I would hate to see the Hawks trade him.
The only concern I have is where do you put him next season or the season after that... - Tazer19
How many time have you seen him play? |

Many believe that because he skates so pretty but he really isn't. You want to put a guy into the top 4 who couldn't even handle the most sheltered minutes in the league?
And did you just compare Leddy to Keith? Really? |

Really? Because I was really liking the idea of Oduya and Morin (and maybe something else as a cherry on top) for a player like Nielsen, Backlund, or Anisimov.
I believe that if the Hawks want to improve at center (especially with a candidate that can hang on the 2nd line), it has to be someone with a lower cap hit, and a team that could ultimately use a 2nd paring defenseman in return.
It's either trade one of Leddy or Oduya, or start looking at trading Sharp to get that center with the higher cap hit. - EKolb13
Gingerbread. You don't need to trade 3 assets for a guy like Nielsen. He has basically been a 3C for much of his career. He is also 30. You need to take that into account. |

Why?
Leddy is hardly ready for a top 4 role.
He's a year or two away from that, not to mention I'm really not comfortable with moving Seabrook - ever.
I'm comfortable with Keith- Seabrook and Hammer- Oduya as our top 4.
Leddy needs to learn instead of trying to impress.

I suspect Rasmussen will get an audition for anything from 2C to 4C. Bigger than Regin and Nordstrom with more positive attributes on paper. Gives Nordstrom another year to fill out and takes some PK from Zues, if he can stick. Not a bad low risk move. - grinder10
Could mean a Swede is on the move. Bowmans have to have a certain number of Swedes on the roster. |

I'd like to keep Oduya instead of Leddy for obvious reasons, stated by Elbows
Moving Rozy out at 2.2M is an upgrade by subtraction. To me 2.2M is too much for him. Dahlbeck would need a little help from an experienced partner. Ideally, using the cap space on the bottom pair to upgrade DEFENSIVELY |

I've been watching this game for decades, and I can tell you there have been many defensemen that have had the same skill-set that just fizzled, now Keith is the right teacher for Leddy.... It's quite obvious Leddy has little patients and wants to do more than he can.
Skill can only take you to one level but to play NHL hockey, you need knowledge and help - just like any other skill.
For example, if Leddy was a carpenter I'm sure he could make some nice cuts but I'm sure he would lose several fingers

Never said he will be - I said he has the talent or at least the skill-set or potential.
Few really reach their potential.
At minimum he will be a Patrick Sharp type.
