Garret Ross was brought up earlier.. he potted 44 goals last season in Saginaw? Same club Saad played with right? 44 geeeezus. Pretty good. Wanna see him at prospects camp.
- z1990z

Ross may need some more time in Rockford, but I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do.

Notice anything wrong about this:

Some combination of TT, Leddy, Oduya, Pick... I don't know - why are you bothering me with stupid details?

I'm the idea man.

- StLBravesFan

I agree: some combo of that could bring in a pretty good young center. And while I would be fine keeping Sharp then, I still would look to see what other young players we could get for him in a 2nd trade

Concerns about Shaw as a 2C but let's throw Bickell as the 1LW doesn't give anyone pause?

Doesnt Sharp have a no trade anyway. If so, he is not going to waive that.

Wanna bet that's where he is come October?

That's where he was much of the play-offs.

I'm just putting him where I think he's going to wind up.

And who would you replace him with? Sharp is the only option - and I like him on the third line (in my scenario) - not to punish him, but to get three scoring lines going.

Counting on Bickell to replace Sharp's production is fool's gold, D. He has never had more than 35 points in a season. Saad should improve. I really doubt hossa's production will increase at his age.

Shaw has pretty much matched or exceeded all of those centers in their average season. I am all for moves that make them better.

Agreed they need a center.

- Elbows15

Hey Elbows!

Agree on that. Also, not pining for them to get rid of Sharp or make a move to make a move. I think they need center help and Sharp is an asset that I would think brings back help there or on D. We'll see what's in store shortly I imagine.

Certainly wouldn't suggest that Bickell is the guy to place Sharp's production but he'll be LW on one of the top 3 lines and was on the first line in the playoffs.

If Sharp goes and they do get a 2C I see some of Sharp's scoring being replaced (maybe not all but close) by new 2C?, 20, 65, 28, 29, 88 with someone who can skate at 2C, Morin if he gets some ice time...

If Sharp does go I think the Hawks still have plenty of guys that can fill the net.

Kesler would be just as much of a hope as Shaw is at this point.

EDIT: and what exactly did Kesler and Kane produce together in Sochi? Less than Kane and Shaw produced together. That's for sure.

I guess we will see what trades do happen, but I agree that scoring shouldn't be a problem even with sharp gone and hopefully we should have 3 solid scoring lines and a 4th that is pretty good. Of course all that matters is winning the cup and you need to roll 4 lines. Look at LA. A decent regular season team that couldn't score but they turn it up when it matters

Anyone know if Kesler and Lou had any issues when they played together in Van?

Exactly! Hoping they find a center and a wing with some size who can skate. Would like to see one of/if not both Bollig/Versteeg gone; both pretty much useless in the playoffs.

Not sure how that happens which is why I'm only an internet GM and not the real deal.

He may be there but for how long? He played there last playoffs, too.

Moving Leddy, Versteeg and Kruger gives you the same savings as moving Sharp. And their production is easily replaceable. '

Just food for thought.

The first two I have no issue with but Krugs is a center, got much better at the dot this year and one of our better pk'ers. Offensively he is what he is but from a defensive standpoint I think you miss him.

They were coached by a guy who couldn't win with the best player in the league. Don't look at their lack of production in Sochi.

It was me (frank)ing with the Hab fan who comes in here all the time with trade proposals, cup. It the only way to stop the madness.
- Elbows15

Yeah,I figured that was a little too rich, but.......Both of those guys would check some boxes, I think Leddyplus + would have to be a starting point for that 1. I just hope what ever it is, Stan Bowman doesn't overpay. Stay the course, get a bridge guy, promote Morin ,Mcneill, ,Danault,+eventuallyTT to the parent club.

Imagine how close we were to beating them with all of this dead weight versteeg, zeus, and bollig are all addition by subtraction. Sharp was really bad. A couple gritty young forwards and rolling 4 lines would make this a very tough team to beat. Plus add how pissed off and focused they will be
