Yeah, I mean, Murray clearly said we will not be offering Winnik a contract. That's pretty much it, a Gm isn't going to say that and then go back. It's understandable for a GM to go back on many comments, but a clearly defined statement showing he isn't going to resign three players after discussing it with them..yeah, I don't think Murray suddenly changed his mind.

Anaheim has already stated that they will not be resigning Winnik.
Not sure how they would still like to retain him.

When asked, most GMs always respond with "there's nothing in the works" or "there's some offers out there, but nothing really serious". This could be GM speak, or it could be the truth.
MacT may have not been offered Phaneuf or anything like that, so to talk about trade speculation from fans is meaningless. That's not to say, that if 5 minutes later, a big trade landed on his desk, he wouldn't consider it or even take it. Trades can happen at any moment. |

Another option for Philly who would play him on the Blue line...which he prefers for sure...Montreal also in on this more and more...Islanders poking around.
I would actually like him in Mtl, as a defenceman ... but he's expensive. I guess that could be plan B if we can't sign Markov. |
