not a chance in hell col would move RoR straight up for phaneuf.

the biggest issue is not wanting to pay him the high salary he'll want (6 - 6.5), so why move him for a less valuable asset, who's making more already.

they could get way more than phaneuf for him..............and i say that as someone who, admiddetly doesn't like phaneuf, but thinks he's a good player.

not sure he's the best UFA D available though. i'd say niskanen is better, and boyle is about the same.

i think 5.75 is the max he would have gotten in the open market, would have thought the habs would have been able to lock him up for 5.

i guess it's not much at the end of the day though, but given some of the players the habs have to re-sign, i think every penny is gonna be needed.

Markov is by far a better Offensive-D than Niskanen and as good as boyle in his own zone. How many good season Niskanen had...2, maybe 3....Markov had plenty of those....

ROR to the leafs is a pipe dream, never going to happen. Especially for a Dman who would eat up too much of the avs cap space long term.

Yes, a good LHD to pair with EJ. Hejda got too beat up and worn down from the season grind to handle those minutes...better sutied for the 2nd pairing with Barrie.

Ive read Niskanen likes to play his offhand, so if they want a guy to pair with EJ and to make the first pass. Nisk is the guy to grab if not wait for Bigras or Seimens to pan out

Yandle is more all offense by all means if you feel like he is better. But shattenkirk isnt better nore do i think he is available but maybe STL would do it since its an overpayement.
