I understand he is a very good center but 6.5 million? What has he accomplished to draw that kind of salary at this point (not to say he may not be worth it someday). Sounds like the agent and Daddy need to talk a walk. They're going to make him an albatross.

They are saying he is coming off a 6.5m deal (salary) however ignroing the 3.5m first year of the deal that gave him the 5m cap hit. Avs want to start there. His agent wants to start at his salary. Kid just has been getting terrible representation and its dragging his name in the mud bc of it

Doubtful. There are certain things they can look at when reviewing and others are exempt. When looking at all the other young comparables there is no way an arbitrator will go over 6. So it will then be up to ROR. Take a one year deal or two. If he takes the one, he'll still be RFA. If he takes 2 he'll be UFA after it in which case the Avs may trade him.

The Pens should be more focused on hiring a coach first soon b4 locking up their own players.

You only put that stuff on a used car that cost you $3000 or less. Because why put all that aftermarket money into the car payment itself, to a drive a nicer one instead of a hunk of crap with ugly bells and whistles?

ROR to the leafs is a pipe dream, never going to happen. Especially for a Dman who would eat up too much of the avs cap space long term.

True, but Lidstrom's Salary was 7.450 to 7.600 is salary cap era, more or less.
More room to play with to fit people and the cap ceiling was lower.

Zetterberg and Datsyuk didnt get their pay days until after he left though. I always liked that system. Lidstrom is our captain and no one should make more than him. Either you beleive in that or look elsewhere
