I think most of the blame can be pointed at ownership.

And, I'll reserve final judgement until we see what our season opening roster is...

I'm convinced Chiasson can replace Spezza...in the +/- category, coming in hot after a -21 season in Dallas - that must be tough to do.

We have a top 5 defenseman, and a few top 50-75 forwards, and that's it. And nobody who looks destined to become a top 30 scorer.....why wouldn't Bobby Ryan resign. The Defense League will get their money someday, Cheapo, spend some now, or take a hike and let somebody else step in.

And best of all maybe, a city with the most aggressive drug dealers in the world chasing down the players. It's all adding up to some incredible optimism.

Let's play a fun game and give Cheapo some of his favourite kind of ideas.

How can Cheapo spend the least amount of money to climb the $10M or so needed to get to the cap floor? Are their any Tim Thomases out there with a big cap hit but won't actually come and play here and get the money?


Here's an idea for Cheapo - trade a 6th for Marian Hossa and the money it would take to buy Hossa out. Buy him out, add the cap hit to your salary, then let the Blackhawks resign him for $3M a year, and solve their cap issues, You get a nice salary cap add for no outlay!
