So what you're saying is, Karlsson is the next one to get jerked around by the team, and decide he wants to go elsewhere? - Feeling Glucky?
You need to spend more time trying to figure out why players are refusing to come to the Leafs. Just because players are refusing the Leaf trades is no reason to come and dump on a Senators thread. Not going to make you feel any better.

Oops I forgot Chiasson. - Cup 06
Yes take Stewart out and put Chiasson in. All the hockey insiders say the best part of Chiasson's game is that he has very good speed and size and very sweet hands. |

Although this was one of the weakest free agency classes, we missed out on some players that could've helped our team
Erhoff, Stralman, losing Hemsky, jokinen, perreault.
I mean grabo is still available, he could be very good
I've always been a fan of Vrbata..shocked he hasn't signed anywhere yet (hopefully he signs with us)
Alfie is still available! Maybe he comes back?

Is that why you were coming over to the Leafs threads?
To make yourself feel better about the sens? |

Sweet Jesus, what is wrong with you people? - spatso
What is wrong?
In 12 months the Senators have lost 2 franchise players. Neither of these players should have been lost for nothing (Alfie) and an unproven roster player, 2 prospects and a 2nd rounder.
The owner is trying his hardest to sink the team by penny pinching. If I were Spezza (or Ryan), why would I want to sign a long term extension under this owner?
Murray, while pulling off some excellent trades, seems to have lost his way under the current ownership. Perhaps ownership has rubbed off on him - in a bad way. The Spezza trade was never destined to return a fortune but the manner in which it was conducted was poor at best and the return was not the greatest. Not even a conditional pick involved should Spezza resign with the Stars!? Very poorly done.
Nothing short of a new owner (or a huge cash influx for current ownership) will sort this team out. |

Gorges refused a trade to Leafs because he hates them after playing for Montreal for so long and he doesn't want to play Montreal as a Leaf player. Pretty good reason. You should spend some time to think about what's going on with the sens cause your the only fan in the thread today who's happy with the Sens day. |

Did Michalek ever play with Zibanejad? I don't remember him ever doing anything with a center other than spezza |

The Sens are going to be challenging for the #1 pick next year i'm afraid. Other than the Turris Ryan MaCarthur line, this team has a bunch of 3rd line guys, and bottom pair defencmen. Karlsson is a great player too, but hes going to be getting frustrated seeing everybody walk out the door. |

Nothing to report, was told it would get done around this time. It's Wednesday tomorrow. I think by weeks end a decision will be made. Team is more focused on other things ATM. |

I don't think they will be that bad, Karlsson can keep them out of the bottom 5 himself, plus Lehner is going to have a good year imo |

He should be Murrays main focus now. He could be great leader for the team if you can convince him to sign long term. If he walks out the door too, the fan base will start watching a laughable franchise from home. |

Look at the defence. It was a complete gong show last year. They didn't fix any of those problems. And now you just took a point a game player out of the line up. |

^ Way to talk crap on a team you don't know anything about. This team is filled with prospects aching to make an impact on the pro team. If anything I wouldn't be surprised if the Senators made it into the Playoffs. Sure it's a longshot if you're going to base it off what happened in the last few weeks, but the same thing was said 3 seasons ago when the Senators were projected to finish bottom 5 yet went all the way to pushing a game 7 against the 1st seeded NY Rangers. |

OK, every team has prospects. Where are all of these blue chip prospects that are going to turn this teamaround? Ceci is aready in the NHL, so is Lehner, Lazar is the same as every other first round pick trying to make an NHL team. He's not going to come in and set the league on fire. |

This kind of comment is just plain bizarre. The Senators are stocked with great young talent. They are a big team. They are going to be fine next year.
A lot of us wanted this result out of today. It would have been crazy to give a 31 year old player with a bad back a long term big dollar deal. This team has transformed itself over the three years Murray said it would take. They will compete hard. They will win enough to keep fans excited. They will become a force in the east soon enough. |
